The Iron Hands chapter often times have had their Iron Fathers train on several Forgeworlds. Most come back to the chapter with lots of knowledge. However there was one Iron Father who has been shunned and cast out from the chapter as both an extremist and traitorous. Uther severed his bond with the Iron Hands when the Forgeworld (Getting name of it, its the one that was invaded by the tyranids in their codex) he was studying at was consumed by the great devourer. Uther had requested the help of the rest of the Iron Hands chapter but the Iron Hands knew that the task had too much risk and losing a large part of the current remaining Iron Hands forces was much too risky. Though only a few of the Iron Hands survived the assault and escaped the Forge World, Uther was forever frustrated by this event. Under a black night in terra time of 2200 Uther and his remaining force of Iron Hands comandeered several vehicles out of the Iron Hands hangars. He took off from the planet forever turning his back on his chapter. The Inquisition declared Uther excommunicate traitorous and began their search for Uther and his rebels but they were nowhere to be found. Uther in his haste to escape the Iron Hands world lost control of the ship they commandeered and ended up on a barren planet.
Upon the daring landing Uther began constructing his own fortress in the barren planet. Through great abilities Uther was able to bring the planet to life, allowing it to flourish with new life slowly. In the shadows a different type was also awaking.
Uther and his remaining command encountered large amounts of Necrons, in the next fifty years that followed Uther and his marines which he dubbed the Red Hammers began an assault on the stronghold of the Necrons. Until the planet would begin to flourish Uther knew that he had very low resources and could not afford to lose Marines. The Inquisition calls the use of Necron body parts to augment your current armour heresy of the highest kind. Uther called it genius.
(In this army the veterans have parts of Necrons such as arms and legs, some of the marines also have arms and legs that are necron. Only the Veterans in Uthers command squad still have the original Iron Hands emblem on their shoulder pads, the rest of the marines in this army have been replaced with hammers. Uther's Veterans wear traditional black Iron hands colors while the rest of the army has Skull white armor with a red hammer on their shoulder pads and some black and boltgun metal to add to detail) I am looking for advice on how to change this armys paint job since I am debating whether or not to actually paint them this way. How does this fluff sound? Should I stick with it or just use the Iron Hands fluff and make an Iron Hands army? Most of the vehicles actually are carrying Forgeworld Iron Hands doors and iconography. Advice is greatly appreciated.
I do plan to expand more on what happened in the fluff I just wanted to give a short summary of the story behind this chapter I am making.

jdelrio I like what you've written. The name of the Forge world destroyed by hive fleet Leviathan was Gryphonne IV. It was one of the principal forge worlds in the galaxy and the Adeptus mechanicus disobeyed the command of a lord inquisitor to stay behind and protect it. They had abandoned Tesla prime a weapons testing planet. The Orks moved in after the Adeptus mechanicus fled and one assumes were eventually destroyed by hive fleet Leviathan.
Inquisitor Kryptman had ordered all worlds in the path of Leviathan to be abandoned and destroyed with exterminatus so when the Tyranids decended on a world to feed its inhabitants and all it's biological matter would be burned away. Needless to say billions died though the Tyranid advance was slowed to a crawl. This was also why Kryptman was booted out of the inquisition as he was declared excommunicate tratoris and a carta extremis has been issued.
This stuff if you don't already know it may be helpful.
