Ok, this is my first fluff ever, so do as the title implies, and I am making all this up, I havn't read that many books on warhammer.
This is the year 50k. The Empire is almost destroyed. Now, only Terra and a few other planets defend from their foes on a daily basis. The Tyranids have ovverun almost everything. They have created a massive army that now only needs to crush Man, and then it will move onto the Orks.
The Eldar have been completely wiped out, their dying race was near its end when the Hive Fleet got to them. Tau are prosperous. They have a stronge foothold against the tyranid force. They are the hope of mankind now. Chaos has been ovverun by the hive fleets too, and has retreated into the Eye of Terror to remake their forces. The Necrons have signed a pact with the Tau, in order to have an allie, and then when the time is right, the blind Tau will be hit by the Necrons.
The Dark Eldar finally have an opening! Now they make their forces, and prepare for a great war to end their lives under Slaneesh. They have heard of a great power which can end the reign of the Slaneesh god over the peoples of the Dark Eldar. They want to end their torment now. The Kabals form up, and hit the surrounding planets. People are unprepared for this. The Dark Eldar are only supposed to raid planets, not control them! Now the Tau and Necrons act fast.
They establish fronts againsts this poison seeping into the universe. Meanwhile the tyranids want to stop the Dark Eldar from being freed from the Chaos God. They move vast armies against all three factions, Tau, Necrons, and Dark Eldar alike. Will they form an alliance against this new enemy? Or will they fall while they fight eachother in a mad war?
I am going to try to base my campaign with my friend and his brother on this. Comments welcome, though there may be more critism.
Well there are quite a few things I would take issue with. first its complete conjecture so how relevant is it. Secondly you don't mention the orks. Tau signing a treaty with the Necrons can't see it happening in a million years much less 10,000. Why have the dark eldar survived but Craftworld eldar died, both are dying races.
The Dark Eldar have been hiding, Necrons just thought of doing it for the best allie right now that would agree, Orks I dunno what to say.
The Necrons are very much non-talking automatons. They rape (figuratively, not literally) the other races in terms of firepower and resilience. Why would they stoop to ally with the tau?
"It fits like clothes made out of wasps!"

Ok, so I pretty much suck at this stuff. Could you please help me figure out something on the lines of this, but to include my friend's necrons, tau, and his brother's tyranids, as well as my own dark eldar.Originally Posted by Berny Mac
If you need a storyline to bind the 4 armies together so they have some reason of being there...
The Eldar are defending an Exodite world and its Warp Gate from periodic raids by their darker brethren when a Tyranid splinter fleet from Behemoth or tendril from Kraken (your choice as storyteller) arrives in system and decides to turn the world into lunch. The sudden arrival of so much life awakens the Necron Tomb lords and they spill out from hidden ruins buried in the rugged mountains.
There, now everyone has a reason to be on the world and kill everyone else off.
Tyranids : FOOD
Dark Eldar : FOOD/SLAVES
Necrons : FOOD/SLAVES
(I'm so glad this world isn't my home)
Eldar : MINE
May your aim be true, and your targets plentiful.
Thats perfect, now all I have to do is find a player who plays Eldar, or maybe make some kid buy them and play with us, heh. Thanks for the bit.Originally Posted by Escaflowne
Oh, oops, the 4th army was Tau not Eldar, my bad.
The Tau are defending one of their newly settled and mineral-rich colony worlds from a series of Dark Eldar raids which seem to target the various colonies spaced out over the planet's surface and some ruins higher up in the mountains. None of the science and excavation teams sent to these ruins have returned and communication with them was lost soon after they arrived. A tyranid splinter fleet arrives in system and decides to try and make a meal out of the world's inhabitents. The sudden arrival of so much life causes the Necron lords to awaken and pour forth from their tombs hidden in the rugged mountains.
Same general thing as before, just change the planet's owner.

Slight problem in that the Nids seem to have been observed avoiding necron worlds. Though there is some debate whether this is because the worlds contain necrons or because necron worlds are generally dead worlds that the nids won't find too nutritious.
You could have the tau stumble across an obscure Eldar artefact which the DE are trying to take back. But it responds to their presence and sends out vibrations in the Warp, attracting both nids and a necron harvester fleet.
