A long, long time in the future, in a galaxy far, far away.
The green glow attracted the Archon's eyes. The holocron had revealed a large eerie green crystal to the Dark Eldar among the group.
"Now is the time! We can finally strike our enemies, and reveal our true forces to the universe! All we need is the Centium Crystal." Archon Kohr-Ah said as he pointed toward the crystal.
"This object can destroy the chaos god Slaneesh, once and for all! Then no longer under her wrath, we can focus on the domination of this area, and then the next, and so on and so on...." Kohr-Ah said with fierce determination.
"Cypher, I want you for this invasion, we must be sure that we secure this object as soon as possible, you know how important it is to all of us. Have your Kabal of the Swift Foot rally their forces to you, and prepare for an attack, I have readied some spacecraft for you already. I have also enlisted the aid of the Wych Cult of Malice, they will aid you well. Prepare your wargear and your jetbike, "Quickstrike" as well" Kohr-Ah explained carefully.
"It will be done my lord, we shall have our prize...." Cypher said with a dark tone.
"Then it will be! Prepare your forces fellow Archons, for WAR!" Kohr-Ah bellowed to the others.
The screen chimed in with an interception. Shas'la Ku'rin called for a translator.
"I need a translator here, I think it may be some kind of Eldar!" Ku'rin yelled as Aun'Chi came over and translated the message that they had gotten.
"Ready...for...invasion...ship check...sending...coordinates...now...engage... What are those coordinates Ku'rin? Get them fast!" Aun'Chi ordered.
"Sir, its just a deserted swamp planet, nothing much...What would these Eldar want there?" Ku'rin questioned.
"Lets just send out a patrol, for safe measures. Lets hope this doesn't escalate..." Aun'Chi replied.
Archon Cypher had his men sent down to the swamp planet. He wondered if this was some trick by the Eldar captive who had told them of this location. He hoped it wasn't, as this weapon could bring victory to the dieing Dark Eldar. As each of his squads checked in, he readied "Quickstrike" for the planet drop. Cypher then entered his ship, loaded his jetbike on, then took off for the planet.
Ku'rin was to lead a small task force to the planet. Just in case there was trouble, he carried his radio to tell the other Tau just in case there would be anything big. He didn't think so, the planet had been inhabited for centuries. He didn't expect what was next....
"Keep a steady pace your rats!" Cypher yelled to his men. They had to quicken their pace, for Cypher was hungry for this new prize. He would be hailed, and could overthrow Archon Kohr-Ah. Then he would as powerful as Vect himself! Just then, he spotted a streak in the sky off in the distance. He sensed Mon-Keigh. He called for his jetbike, and mounted. He told the others to keep on thier track, he would investigate what the suspicious streak was in the sky.
Ku'rin set up camp when he heard a jetbike.
"Eldar patrol!" Ku'rin yelled to his men. He readied behind some cover, and fastened on his helmet. He then sent the one Devilfish they had to hide, so it could ambush the patrol. Out of nowhere a white streak broke through and slashed two of his ment o pieces as it swept by.
"This is no Eldar....these are Dark Eldar jetbikes! Get Aun'Chi on the radio, immediatly!" Ku'rin ordered hsi raido man as he attempted to take a few shots at the speading white form.
"May be a larger thread than expected, stop. Dark Eldar, stop. Need more reinforeme..." Ku'rin would never complete the message.
Cypher dismounted his bike, and glared at the bodies of the small patrol.
"Pity, what a waste of slaves..."
All of the sudden, a devilfish appeared out of the forest, and began pummeling Cypher with shots. He dove out of the way, letting the shadowfield catch the other shots, and mounted his bike. He immediatly had his turbo-engines charge out of the area, as he had to report their presence.
There could be resistance now.
Aun'Chi realized what had happened. He knew know that there must be something they were looking for, as the Dark Eldar only launch raids.
"Men, prepare for war, we meet the Dark Eldar on this planet!" Aun'Chi ordered his top officers.
And so, the conflict on Beliath has begun....
Please leave comments, this is an actual campaign so my friend and I will be playing and as we play I will post reports with fluff. I really hope you enjoyed it!

Well, this was rather interesting..
One of the biggest problems I see with this is that you have absolutely no indication of the fact that at certain points it is from the perspective of dark eldar and then the perspective of tau. That and it seems that they are a bit to well informed of their enemy, since tau havent met every race or had much contact with others. Look at the tau and chaos...
Its an interesting idea: DE looking for an object of great power and the tau trying to stop them, but theres really no reason for the tau to actually be doing that. You might want to have the tau on the world, so they are protecting it from raiders.
Take my love, take my land, take me to where I cannot stand; I don't care I'm still free, you can't take the sky from me.

Well its just that this thing could make the Dark Eldar very powerful. Without a Slaneesh, they no longer have to be afraid. Raids can still happen, but now they can dedicate themselves to enslaving the universe. Sounds like something the Tau may want to stop, lol, but very good point.Originally Posted by darkreever
This particular Tau unit has dealt with Eldar, I should have added that, so they have translators among them who know the race quite well. Anything else that doesn't work, thanks for the comments.
Hmmm...actually, of all Eldar kindred the Dark Eldar don't have to fear Slaanesh much. They made an agreement with She-who-thirsts and for the last ten thousand years, this worked well. Besides, i have my problems with an artifact that has the power to destroy a chaos god. I mean, even the emperor or Ulthar weren't able to destroy one of them.
Humanitas dominatus omnis, de iam dum terminus aetas
Well, I dunno. First, what was the deal that they made? Next, this is like a dawn of time secret, it can jsut give enough power to destroy a god.
Maybe it's just that I'm a Slannesh player, but I hate the suggestion that Slannesh can be destroyed by getting the special crystal and destroying it in the fires of mount doom (in any case.. they have no ratlings, so it's doomed to failure!)
If it was that easy, don't you think someone would already have done it?
Slannesh is a chaos god created from the emotions of the Eldar race, why would he/she be tied in any way to some special crystal? What would the crystal do to affect him/her? How could a physical artifact possibly affect a being whose birth cries tore a hole in reality so big can be seen from any point in the galaxy.
And even if such an artifact existed. Why would it be on this innocuous planet? Surely it would be back on the crone worlds, where everything began. While I'd love to see a campaign based on a group of eldar travelling to the crone worlds and confronting the horror they unleashed 10,000 years ago, it should be impossibly difficult. The Eldar don't expect to survive the final battle with Slannesh, their only hope is to undo their mistake so they can find peace in death.
Umm, I am trying my best here, so here I go.
The crystal has divine powers to destroy the choas god, but not just by touching it and poof. It would trigger another emotional outbreak which would be able to either (I havn't decided) create another god to combat Slaneesh, or an emotional anomalae (s/p?) so large, it could destroy the very matter of this universe.
I like the latter, because as soon as the Dark Eldar will figure that out, they have to find some way to escape. This will escalate into huge wars, where eventually the DE will make it into the catacombs of Beliath, but find out its terrible secret (Halo style) of what its side effects are.
Then, it will somehow be lost onto another planet, perhaps the destruction of Beliath, and then the crystal being indestructable will fly to another planet, and others will find out about its powers. Also, this world is very old, perhaps a crone world long ago. Um, anything else?
