What do you think about the Blood Ravens? Which Chapter do they come from? pesonally i think they're a break off of the thousand sons which wouls explain their powerful librarians the fact that there are so many librarians and that they don't know about their origins.
Personaly I'm shooting for a Codex Chapter that just went through a rough spot early on. They're pretty much codex except for the unusual amount of psykers. That could just be due to a high percentage of psykers in the native population of thier home planet. The lack of records could be due to a number of things, loss of thier original fortress-monastary,intentional coverup,or a simple mismanagement of records. It's not really uncommon for history to be lost, just read the fluff for some of the other chapters. A lot of them start with "The X Chapters earliest history is shrouded in mystery" or "Much of the information regarding so-and-so's creation has been lost".Appearantly librarians don't make very good...librarians O.o'
The thousand sons had powerful librarians because they came from a world populated by psychic mutants.
It's nothing to do with their gene seed, it's just that a large proportion of the population of Prospero had psychic powers anyway, and by a supreme act of deus ex machina on the part of GW, a powerfully psychic and very mutated primach just happened to land there.
Gene seed doesn't make a person a psyker. It just makes a psyker into a librarian.
I don't hold much with the Thousand Sons theory.. It's just too wierd and special. My guess is they're probably Ultramarines like everyone else.

A:they don't have a home planet, they go around in a floating monestery(couldn't they just get a Trans Am like everyone else?) and B: The Amount of librarians isn't that important but, they are according to index asartes and i quote: "The most powerful psykers in the imperium besides the grey knights"
Y'know, the other possibility (and one I'd be willing to believe long before I believe the Thousand Sons theory) is that they're one of those unfortunate chapters founded during the 13th or 21st foundings. This could explain the mutation (psyker powers) and the bad luck (losing a homeworld and not knowing where they came from).Just a thought. Which WD has the Index Astartes article on them...I sure would like to get my hands on that one. *hand wringing*
I have that WD and its sweet. The article is in US WD 295.Originally Posted by Edicius

Yes Gabriel did mention that HIS home planet was Cyrene. I dont believe he mentioned it was the Blood Ravens home planet.Originally Posted by Uriel Zarium
The Blood Ravens do not know what was their home planet as it was "Forgotten". Gabriel hints at why it was destroyed in the Dawn of War novels.Originally Posted by The Ham
Personnaly I think that the records were deleted because the 5th company turned to chaos while under the influnce of a librarian. Once the chapter was deemed pure they were allowed back into the imperium.
