    Cheesy/Heroic Lines

First off sorry if this is in the wrong place, but it seemed to fit.

I really like cheesy/heroic lines. For example someone has that Death Troops of Kreig quote along the lines of
'Did you think that was a pretty name son? We fight we die, thats the Kreig way'.

Those kinda things thats seem to fit into a bad army movie. Like 'Some call them Tyranids, some call them bugs but all who know them call them death'.

Anyone have their own personal favourites from 40k? Cringe worthy additions are welcome too

PS: Always thought 'And they shall no know fear' was quite a cheesy/cool line too.

IIRC "and they shall know no fear" is part of a much larger saying/verse.

While on its own its cheesey the whole thing is pretty cool.

That eldar quote- "their arrogance is matched only by their firepower"- is just so lame it hurts my ears to hear it.

A funny twist on the fear quote well describes the gernal invulnerability of space marines

"and they shall know no incoming fire."

"Repent for tommorow you Die" is just stupid.
    "God is dead" Nietzsche- 1886
    "Nietzsche is dead" God- 1900

    Why are there scams? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q71FLDIMBc8

Think its the Emperor's speech which is uesd to introduce the Space Marines. I like the ominous soundings of it.

That really is cringe worthy! Almost Brentworthy!

    *ahem*

"They shall be my finest warriors, these men who give themselves to me. Like clay I shall mould them and in the furnace of war forge them. They will be of iron will and steely muscle. in great armour shall I clad them and with the mightiest guns will they be armed. They will be untouched by plague or disease, no sickness will blight them. They will have tactics, strategies and machines such that no foe can best them in battle. They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines and they shall know no fear."

Its rather less cheesy when its said in context.

Ohh, also the Tau's "For the greater good" is just so bad, it just seems so lame to me.

I can't think of anything said by the Emperor that doesn' sound pretty cool. Mind you thats probably intentional.

As for lame, most battle-cries are pretty stupid. They're mostly too long like 'Knowledge is power. Guard it well' can you really imagine shouting that as you charge forwards?

I like one from Dawn of War: "Walk softly, but carry a big gun. . ."
Why do the survivors remain anonymous -- as if cursed -- while the dead are revered? Why do we cling to what we lose while we ignore what we still hold?
Name none of the fallen, for they stood in our place, and stand there still in each moment of our lives.

Dawn of War and Chaos Gate are literally full of over the top/cheesy lines, Chaos especially is guilty of it.

Here are just a few unit quotes from Dawn of War, Chaos Gate is arguably worse but I think its in the delivery.

Raptors- "We soar on wings of fire!"
Aspiring Champion- "Once more, into the fray!"
Berserkers "I drink their blood from their hearts!"
