Often we see homegrown fluff about human worlds independent of the Imperium for sketchy and often contrived reasons. It’s become something of a cliché that your chapter/regiment is so awesome that people don’t dare tell them what to do.

However I feel we need a guideline and good examples to prevent this reoccurring joke.

I know some people here can write background for such a world that is not merely adequate but good in a way Games Workshop has overlooked.

So the contest I propose is that the participants have until September 15th to write background for a human world or worlds separate from the Imperium. You are welcome to embellish this with fiction or illustrations.

Important: don’t post your fluff in this thread or on open forums if you don’t want elements of it to be copied by other participants.

Well I feel e-mail will be more suitable, since it will allow people to really go to town and allow them to include diagrams/pictures.

Naturally my personal e-mail is not going to appear on public forums and one will be created for this purpose.

As to the content, the main criteria for determining winners will be originality and compatibility with existing background. I cannot really say what I am looking for because I want to see something that is a little different.
