Dont know if this is the right forum but what the heck!
When they brought out Tau I remember interviews with someone saying they narrowed down hundreds of possible ideas to finally come up with Tau and Kroot.
I cant stop wondering what some of those other ideas where.
What do you think is missing from the 40k universe? Any classic sci fi ideas that could be brought in? (or fantasy ideas that could realistically be made) I mean they did the whole cthulu/borg/cyberman/undead thing with the necrons and the whole aliens thing with the tryranids, what other ideas could possibly be brought in and made "40k" as well as credibly sell?
Im definatly interested in other peoples ideas.
(and please lets not mention demiurg/squats, space skaven or zoats!)
Well Zoat's are actually Tyranids. Originally ages ago when Tyranids first appeared the old fluff said they didn't have the whole hive mind thing going and were more like aggressive industrialists who used biological technology.
And it was technology, Tyranids didn't evolve themselves into different forms back then.
Zoats were a slave race created by the Tyranids and in the current codex Tyranids there is a mention of them as Collosus.
They were one of the so-called forgotten fleets.
As far as new aliens are concerned when Tau were designed they would of gone through loads of ideas that happens in any design process.
I have seen pictures of several Tyranids that never got into the rules and were never produced.
How come there are two versions of this thread?
"God is dead" Nietzsche- 1886
"Nietzsche is dead" God- 1900
