the Tau were seeded by the old ones to develop rapidly should the C'tan reappear
Is that a question or a statement? If you expanded, you might get some good replies.
I can see what you're getting at, but how about some back up material eh?
You usually post nicely, is someone else using your profile?
Sure they were, and the Emperor was created by the Jokaero so that the strange, colourful monkey people would have something to laugh at for thousands of years..
I agree, this is uncharacteristic..
At least phrase this in the form of a question, or something worthwhile. You have 24 hours to make this a real thread or I'm locking it.
The only difference between tattooed people and non-tattooed people is that tattooed people are awesome and can kick your ass.
"War does not determine who is right - only who is left."
i think hes was making it as statment to be discussed.....
Well im torn between this because the old ones seeded their descendants millions of years before the tau and then disapeared. Plus the orks were designed to spread fast with the same purpose and well they just haven't. Considering the tau have only been around for 10,000 years and that there is no fluff to suggest that the old ones are still kicking around i'm going to say its unlikely. Although not impossible.

sorry that was a bit blunt
something about the way the Tau evolved and became space faring so quickly and their weak warp signature smells of the old ones. its the kind of thing they would do leaving plans that won't even begin until long after they're gone triggered by apocalytic cosmic events. and the remergence of the C'tan must of been something they forsaw and wanted to counter? i know theres an Eldrad Ulthran quote somewhere about the Tau which alludes to this. and i know the Tau differ markedly from other Old One linked races but i think thats a big part of it
its like it on the tip of my tongue but i can't quite explain it, like much of the fluff for the Tau and C'tan much of its new shrouded in mystery and open to untold speculation which is why i like it so much
oh and lock it if you want sonny its up to you
There is nothing that even indicates that the Tau and the C'tan are linked somehow. And there is nothing that says that the Old Ones created them to counter the C'tan.
The only link that can actually be found that the Tau and Old Ones are linked is that they are somehow related to a spider-race called Q'otl that are located close to the Eye of Terror. That's what I call mysterious. :ninja:
I think the C'Tan and Farsight are linked. Don't tell me he's Chaos, I've seen that argument >.>'
...but not the rest of the Tau, I don't think.

Could the C'tan themselves be taking a page from the Old Ones playbook?
If I remember correctly, there were 4 surviving C'tan, the deceiver, the nightbringer, the dragon, and the outrider. deceiver and nightbringer have been accounted for and the dragon is widely rumored to be the machine god of mars. could the outrider be the mysterious force guiding the tau?
with almost no warp presence, that would follow their MO of not using the warp.
high levels of technology that appeared with little or no time for R and D.
a supreme commander (ethereal) that has a mysterious command over the others, like the necron lord's command over other crons.
the reason farsight is in trouble is that he broke that control heirarchy
See you when your survival instincts kick in!
And to make sure old Shas'o Vior'la Shovah Kaius Mon'tyr stays under wraps they gave him the dawn blade through a 'fortunate accident'.
It all make sense now.
