Hey guys, i'm new too all this fluff caper, but i'm getting there.
So, i'm taking to it like a duck to water and i was wondering where you guys get all your info?? I don't have the access to novels, etc at the moment, so it needs to be web-based.
So any piece of information, no matter how big or small would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance, trub.
wikipedia ^_^ .. look for Warhammer 40k there, and you'll get tons of fluff
Yep wiki is about the best site for information on any subject. What wiki doesn't have you can probably find either on google or here at LO.
Oh and here's a good site for space marine chapter fluff...

What about books though, I love reading books and any information presented that way would be great, I hope this counts as just adding to the thread...

Don't trust everything you read in the novels, a lot of it is contradictory, or otherwise tainted by the author's ideas. A lot of authors don't appreciate the value of simplicity or of keeping things low key.
The best fluff, in my opinion, is in the official GW books, as in the ones with rules. Every codex has at least a little fluff.
Also, the Index Astrates articles are great for space marines. A lot of them have been crammed into 3 fluff books which are available for sale, but others have been printed in white dwarf (the 'rogue sons' article, for example, which details traitor chapters.)
For web based, wikipedia is good, just don't trust everything you read on it. Ultimately, nothing on the web is going to be particularly credible unless it's from the GW site itself.
40k Fluff bible <-- I've heard it's a little outdated, but you can't go wrong with a 240 page PDF of fluff

Ok, let me clarify. Read only the good novels. The Draco Series, Deus Sanguine/Encarmine, and the armageddon novels (mostly the second one), should all be avoided unless you want to read about ridiculous fluff-impossibilities-that-could-never-happen.
