To avoid a desprate user...
Do you really have no idea? hmm let me think... During the enlargement of the Tau empire a minig colony or something like that is invaded. The local IG defend their homeworld. When some nasty Necrons return from their tombs the IG have to call for help. The chapter of the "insert your chapter" answers the imperial SOS and sends a fleet to the planet ("the planet" should have a name and maybe create some special signs for the SM and IG to show where they fought). Now a local Waaagh sees its opportunity to gain some technology, other advantages or the Orks just want to fight. Last but not least some local lords may have fallen to chaos and asked for help on their own.
This should be enough inspiration. Every army is included and has an aim. You may change whatever you want and add some more details.
Spend some more time on the story for further descriptions etc. and let the dice roll!
ok, the juices are flowin
the tau are begining to colonize the planet by first removing all bacteria, alieans, and predatorious animals
the ork warband, lead by a young and ambitious nob who broke away from the bigger fleet, is tryin g to prove them selves that they are the best and green
the IG gort a distresss call from the planet goers on the said planet that there is a cult rebellion with a psyker who proficizes the darkness to come to the worls, so are there to help quell the rebellion
the chaos are trying to recover a lost relic sacred to the lord of the IW
the sm are sent to recover the relic before the chaos can
with all the hubub on the planet, the necro lords eyes glow with anger, and the determination to kill everything
with all that, how can i make a little story out of this, cause i am pretty shure that he wants a page or 2 of fluff for the campaign
Now every army has its aim and nearly all of them were your idea! Be brave sit down in front of your computer and get some special characters and items (the Orks' Boss is a very good idea). The relic needs some more work. You may find a solution that explains some other races' attempt to conquer the planet. To stay with the Orks: He (Boss) or a talented seer of his clan is sure that there's something about this planet that will be in the interest of anyone wanting to gain power... the perfect opportunity...
The seer may be a objective in one game (save him to get the information he found out (Orks) - get him to torture him until he tells you about them anyway (Chaos/IG/SM)) In other games he might be a special character having the abbility to find the relic or clues much easier... By the way the more I write about this the more I get curious about the rest of the plot... These characters will be alot of work to do, but if you give every race someone like that, comparable in abilities, it should not be too unfair.
Next race... Necron... it's a Necron relic... they... eh... lost it... or something like that...
Now I'm really getting into that...
Could say that while trying to Colonize an Imperial Outpost planet, the Tau accidently stumbled upon an intricate temple complex that lay mostly underground. Their intrusion into this complex awoke a slumbering Necron lord who now wishes to defend his complex/get rid of the intruders. He also has in his control an ancient artefact of immense power. Chaos are drawn to the power emanting from this planet due to the reactivation of this powerful artefact. Makes for a good fluff point...is the artefact Chaos? is it Necron? Who knows but both want it in their control. SM come in to help the remaining loyalist colonists hold back the Tau. And the IG are the remaining loyalist Guardsmen still around.
On another point, you could say it was a loyalist Guard unit who found the temple complex and awoke the Necrons...they thought it was a secret Tau base and raided it thinking they were striking a blow against the Tau.
If you win games against Nids with flamers (aside from the Inferno Cannon on a Hellhound), you're playing against opponents with stupidity of impressive magnitude.
