Basic Army Story - The chaos army will be based around the idea that the chaos Daemon they follow has taken the form of a great spider Queen named Arachne Amal who rides upon a gigantic chaotic asteroid made of web in the eye of terror cutting through great waves of warp energy like a surfer in a storm.
From her weblike throne she both commands her army of devoted marines and followers and lures helpless victims with her siren like calls to join the service of chaos,
those who may be strong enough to resist her lure and remain strong and resolute will never resist her venomous maw that once injected will twist and turn the victims bodies into chaotic beast spawn who will eventually serve the chaos gods but as lapdogs and beasts.
One so called victim of her mutating venom was commander Lycurgus the founding father of the Spartan Space Marine chapter who had fallen in a fierce battle with Arachne after answering a false distress call from a crashed vessel.
Lycurgus had answered a distress call from a crashed trade freighter on what was thought to be a large asteroid floating on the edge of the eye of terror but was to find out all too late that this was not a call of distress but the calls of the arachnid queen to lure the marines into her service.
Many marines resisted the call to chaos but were overpowered by Arachne's sea of offspring who dragged the fallen marines into dark caves to wrap them in silken thread as strong as plasteel and await the bite from the Queen, the bite that would seal their fates for an eternity. The marines that had been weak of mind were slumped as if in a trance like state, their faces twisted with a look of extreme pleasure as the chaos gods whispered promises of glory, treasures and eternal life.
The battle between Arachne and Lycurgus was fierce, Spartan chaplain Loenidas realised his attempts to reclaim the souls of his fallen brothers was futile and turned his attention to Lycurgus who was now locked in a close quater struggle with the vastly larger foe, his powersword sparked, reflecting in her silk like skin with shades of deep purple, as he pushed her back. The Queen now more beast like than before had dropped her magestic stance as she struggled to gain balance, with one last push Lycurgus barged forward with his huge domed shoulder pad and hit Arachne knocking her into her throne, a volley of shells burst from his bolt pistol, Arachne reared up on her back four legs and let out a shriek of agony her front four legs grabbing at her silky black flesh as if she could brush away the pain the shells had inflicted.
Leonidas sprinted towards the fray spraying rounds of bolter shells into the thorax of the she beast, Arachne retaliated with a jet of sticky webbing that enveloped the chaplains right arm and bolter, Leonidas stopped in his tracks by the assault dropped to one knee his left hand pressed a controler on the belt of his power armour releasing his right arm and shoulder pad, as the armoured pieces dropped to the floor he unattached his Crozius from its clasp, Leonidas looked up, still kneeling to see Lycurgus gesturing him to get back to the Thunderhawk.
Leonidas began to move as if to head towards his commander "that's an order marine" the com in Leonidas's helmet rang in his ears, instantly he came back to his senses, he knew he must get back to the Thunderhawk and escape!
He must get word back to the Imperium of this atrocity.
Leonidas sprinted for the gunship and entered the rear hatch, he pulled the week minded marine pilot out of his seat, the marine slumped to the floor, "I will deal with you later" the chaplain scouled as he hit the auto pilot button on the control console the vtol boosters ignited and the Thunderhawk lifted off.
As the gunship pulled away from the asteroid Leonidas looked through the rear view port, his commander was on his knees, the venemous blow had been struck his body was wrapped in agony as the twisting venom took hold.
Leonidas turned, his eyes blazed with hatred "I will return for you... Queen of the damned".
Commander Lycurgus is now the pet spawn of the Arachne Marines commander Lastrodectus a cruel reminder of the battle that saw the loss of the founding father of the Spartan Marines.
The Spartan Marines are now swarn enemies of the Arachne Marines and wage constant battle with them.
Lastrodectus is a mighty warrior who's background is a mystery.
He has been bestowed with Princedom by Arachne herself and gifted to such an extent by the Queen that he is almost in her full guise.
Army list guidelines- The mighty chaos God Slannesh finds beauty and magesty in Arachne and shows favor towards her often sending aid to her side when needed in battle and in return she swears a pact with Slannesh. The only Chaos patron that may be taken other than undivided is Slannesh.
Chaos hounds are not actually hounds as such rather the offspring of Arachne herself sent to secure the victims that fall in battles against her and will be taken where possible in the army list. The same stats and rules apply as a normal Chaos Hound.
The Chosen Marines of Arachne's army are gifted with mutations that twist their bodies giving them mighty arachnid limbs, amazing speed, strength and reflexes.

Arachne Amal is pretty cool. I like the idea of her luring unfortunate pawns into her webs.
I'm not sure you should refer to her as a chaos god, as that title is a bit confusing. I'd just describe her as a powerful daemon of chaos undivided. Perhaps she's a daemon prince originally from a now extinct insectoid/arachnid race?
Essentially, the only difference between a daemon and a god is the power level anyway. When you say 'chaos god' it seems to imply a being on the power level of the big 4, which is a bit much.
Otherwise, a very nice idea. I'm really liking the theme.
i think you should paint them black and red, to match a black widow, that would be awsome IMO
but it was still cool, nice fluff
I like the idea of the evil spider queen and enjoyed reading your fluff. It is good very well put together.
You say you're planning to use Chaos hounds. Here is a link you may find useful. It contains hounds but of a different type and variable statline. Plus Zombies some unfortunate Guardsmen under the evil queens spell. I hope it helps.
There is also the creature the Catachan devil in there. I know it isn't a spider but it's similar and it's rules could be used to represent a spider monster, perhaps Lycurgus?
Thanks mate that is very useful!
