My question is would marines from different chapters work together for an extended time over multiple Crusades?
I want to make a chapter but still use my Blood Angels along with this new chapter.
Would this be ok or would it not work. And if not, why not?
Thanks for all replies
Of course they can, during the Age of Apostasy the Black Templars fought with no less than 3 other chapters uring their crusade. Also during the Badaab Uprising their was another crusade involving a couple of chapters, these are only 2 examples of the many multichapter crusades.
Rules wise you going to have use 2 force organization charts or use your blood angels as normal marines so you can use 1 force organization chart.

I was planning on using blood Angel rules all around seeing as the new chapter uses blood angel gene-seed.
Thanks again for the examples!
If your two Chapters share the same geneseed and Primarch, then it’s even more likely that they’ll work together and for extended periods of time as well.
If your Successor Chapter is a new Chapter only recently formed, or if the Chapter has suffered massive losses in a conflict and is only just beginning to rebuild itself, then it would be very likely that some scouts and Marines from that Chapter would join another Chapter of the same bloodline to gain knowledge and experience under the supervision and protection of senior Marines. If you use the Blood Angels rules for all Marines, then that’s entirely fluffy – the newcomers are of course learning the art of war from the Predecessor Chapter and so fight in the same style as these do.
Or if the enemy that the Marines are pursuing is one that they hold a special grudge against or feel has slighted the honour of their Primarch, groups of Blood Angels Successor could also be called in to help defeat him and restore Sanguinius’ honour – the Dark Angels keep a very close bond to their immediate Successor and often collaborate to capture Fallen Angels, whom they very much hold a grudge against.
It could also be that the two Chapters have fought side by side in a previous encounter and one of them ended up ‘owing the other one’; such a debt of honour must be repaid, and perhaps the Chapter decided to lend the strength of a number of Marines to the other Chapter until such a time as their honorary debt has been repaid in kind.
You can come up with a reason entirely of your own, but there’s no shortage of explanations as to why two different Chapters should work together, so I’d say go for it.

Your post was very helpful.
I'll develope the fluff more and post it soon.
God knows I need help with my attempts at fluff:rolleyes:
Would it be ok for the new chapter to have the colors of Regal Blue and Green trim?
I only ask this because most other Blood Angels succesor chapters have redish based color schemes.
Thanks for all replies!
The only reason that I would see marines not working togheter during a crussade is that they might be spread across several diffrent fronts. Many enemies and few Marines, you know? But it's perfectly fine to write something up about Marines working together.
Of course, just because a parent chapter is a certain color, it doesn't mean you have to follow it. The only chapters and succesors that really do this are they Blood Angels and Dark Angels (this shouldn't stop you though). Take a look at Ultramarine and Imperial fist succesors, they are totally different from their primogenitor chapter. Feel free to do what you want.Originally Posted by Salus

Thanks for all your help guys!
I think I'm going to use my BA models as "counts-as" vets.
with my opponent's permission of course.
Or maybe I'll only use BA termies because the new chapter doesn't have any termie suits yet and so the BA help with that.
That is an very good idea, because as you probably know Terminator armour is quite rare in new chapters so that also fits well in the fluff.
But if you want an realy fluffy army then you should never include more than one dreadnought if you realy want them because dreadnoughts are even more rare and harder to produce then Termi armour.

The only time I wouldn't see chapters working well or helping eachother, is if too many questions started getting asked. Quickest way to die is to question a Dark Angel about hokey goings on during the crusade. (Poor BTs) Or...blatantly waltzing a psycher around in front of a Black Templar Master. Etc, etc... Basically as long as there is fight to keep from getting TOO close to eachother and asking the wrong questions, I think all SM chapters have no problem working together...save DA and SW. Fluffwise anyhow.
