if a nid hive fleet were to come in and trash a planet totally infected by nurgle, how would that affect their genetic make up? or would this even be possible? would the disease be too great for the nids to overcome?
Space Marines are the gateway drug
If everyone makes fun of West Virginia, who does West Virginia make fun of?
I would think the norn quuen or dominatrix would sense that the genetic material is corrupt and dangerous to absorb so they would abandon the planet or use genestealers to somehow infect some marines to produce off spring that are resistent and eventually immune to the effects of corruption so the genetic material can be absorbed to creat tougher nids that are more resistent.

I seriously doubt even nids could ever be immune to nurgle. A planet "totally" infested by nurgle would have millions (even billions and trillions if its a daemon world) of diseases, each one potentially fatal to nids. The problem with many nurgle diseases is that they are not "physical" diseases. They are manifestations of nurgle's warp energy. Most of the diseases are made up partly of warp energy. The worst ones are made up entirely of warp energy. Microscopic daemons if you will. They are always changing as well. There is absolutley no way any living, mortal being can hope to overcome the worst of nurlge's diseases.
Genestealers are no different. Infact, in a Soul Drinker's novel they came upon a space hulk that was infested by a daemon of nurgle in the center. All the genestealers on board were infected. They had large weeping sores and pustules. And although they were slower than the normal genestealer, they could absorb more damage.
A couple of thoughts.
If the Nurgle Diseases are Daemonic, then how would the 'Hydra Effect' affect them?
Would 'Nidz even go to these planets, GW seems to purposefuly have entered Nidz as far away from the EoT as possible.
I'm not sure what your asking here. As the Hyrda effect is a means of fighting nids, and has almost nothing to do with nurgle. Also, I said some nurlge diseases are daemonic, and I made sure to say that only the worst of them can be related to daemons. Most just have connections to the warp, which is why normal means of fighting disease doesn't work.
Did you mean what would the hydra effect have on nurgle-diseased nids? My guess would be it would just make them die faster. As chances are, the disease is already killing them off. But we don't know how it would spread or even if it would. We don't know if it would take one of nurgle's trump card diseases to down a hivfleet or even a simple one.
As for nurgle's warp-spawned diseases, I believe it would do to the nids what it does to all living matter. Kill it. But again, we don't know if nids would attack or avoid a nurgle-held world. It simply has not yet happened. All we have is speculation. Do the nids register nurgle living-death as life? Or does it just look dead to their senses?
