I was reading an old-ish WD the other day, documenting some of the IG regiments who fought on Cadia during EoT. One of them was the Necromundan 8th. I'm an aspiring player of Necromunda, but I'm looking at starting a new army (or two)in the near future. I was wondering whether anybody knew what colour scheme that this fabled regiment sported? I'd kinda like to know soon anyway, as I dislike the WA guard colour schemes, and since I can't work out where to add new army icons I'm stuck to using those that are already there. Unfortunately a lack of inspiration means that the Spiders are currently wearing Ice-World camoflague... can anyone do them justice?
Wow, the spiders. This Brings back alot of Memorys from the old RT days where they where mentioned frequently. As far as I know, the 8th Necromunda Regiment ( called "The Spiders" because there Colonel, Raeven Mortz keeps a deadly Necromundan Greenback Spider as a pet and mascot) wore the standard Codex Grey uniformes with the Command Squads wearing a " Tiger Stripe" patteren.
The Necromunda 9th Regiment ( 24th Imperial Army Corps) also wore a smlular uniform. Alot of Necromundaian " Armies" are just Hive Gangs "recruited" ( IE PressGanged) into Imperial service. The 9th Would of basically been captured by the Athorities, the leaders exicuted and a Imperial guard Command structure implimented and then transported to the war-zone and let loose, with some form of basic training.
As this was back in First edition most Guard armies where just codex grey, I would say go wild with whatever colour secheme you think looks best on your army. Remember guardsmen arn't like Marines they will wear Cammo patterens and so forth.... Dont Forget to include Gang insinga tho, you could go wild making a whole back story about what they gang was like and so forth. If as you say you are a aspiering Necromunda player you could use your gang from there and record there rise to glory from underhive scum to a Imperial Army Regiment. Could be alot of good fluff in there ...=o] hope I helped some.

FluffMaster on a mission to turn people to the Sisters of battle, yes folks it's all about SoB squads in Repressors with lots of flamer templates for the win.
Well, I would try to combine the catachan-range with some Esher models. The Catachans can be converted to represent the male gangs (Goliaths - plaine Catachans kind of, with the typical hairstyles. Orlocks - Give the Catachans bandanas. Van Saar- Hmm, maybe try Cadian models and convert mustaches or something. Delaques - Shave 'em! Cawdor - Make them religeous-looking I think) and the Esher is, well, Escher.
Adopt a standard uniform to them and that's finished.
You will have a huge oppurtunity for fluff as well. Tales of gangers from previously competing gangs which end up in the same team, with their Sarg to be from another gang... Awsomeness.
Thanks guys. There's already quite a bit of fluff on the Spiders (so-called because they're drawn from a huge organisation/gang who all have Spider tattoos on their faces, I've never heard anything about their colonel or a mascot), and some ruels somewhere, I believe. I'm not sure whether I will build an amry as such, as I've had my eye on the Lizardmen for a while now, but for a WA paint scheme, this is very helpful.
Cartier, I found http://wh40k.ei8ht.net/guard1.htm after a game of DoW last night with LoC. It's just a matter of putting the files in the right place .
Having an army and not owning a rulebook is like owning a car with no steering wheel.Originally Posted by amishcellphone
