A while back I contributed to a thread exploring possible soundtracks for the SOB's. There were some great ideas, i.e. 'Ride of the Valkyries' and Rob Zombie's 'Dragula' ("Burn with the witches!")
In lieu of that thread being no longer available for additional stuff, I will ask here:
Has anyone either heard or tried or know of anyone who has ever tried to put the Sister's Battle Hymn--the Fede Imperialis--to music?
This surely qualifies as fluff, n'est-ce pas?
Well, my opinion still stands that SoBs wouldn't really listen to metal of any kind...
It would be grand hymns with choruses thousands strong.
I suddenly hear alot of gospel music in my head.
Sartorious: Its not hard to associate hard rock and metal to the 40k universe as the very premise of the dark gothic nature of the background just fits with the style and lyrics of those particular genres.
But, (being devil's advocate here) if they did listen to Heavy Metal and Hard rock, I agree that they'd listen to Dragula or some other similar Rob Zombie/White Zombie songs. There does seem to be a common message amongst their range of songs.
Hehe, I lot of Lordi stuff is pretty suitable... "The Deadite Girls gone Wild" springs to mind ("You wanna put it inside/you're gonna lose it, she bites"), or "Fire in the Hole" ("She's a thorn/like a spike/ but I just can't thrust her aside/she holds her hands up high, with quivering fingers")
"You're very interesting, and very perceptive. So interesting, and so perceptive, in fact, that we shall now fight with KNIVES!"
"I've been dead long before you were born, and I'll be dead long before you'll be dead!"
I was more thinking about a blend of dark, heavy classical music with large choirs, doing something in the vain of Lamb of God or Hallelujah...
Open your mind, for the forbidden, unholy and dreadful knowledge of a Fluff Master...
