Am desperately seeking information about the Emperor's tarot and I'm afraid that I'm not having much luck. Saw several cards at a site on line done by someone who apparently never bothered to finish the deck. i swear that I read mention of a deck existing.
I have read traditional Tarot since high school and am an hermetic magician as a well as an illustrator & would love to expound on the Emperor's tarot, but would like to know what attributions, if any, have been assigned to the major arcana. . .does this deck employ the four standard suits????
Can somebody help me, please!!!!!!
Does this belong in the rules forum?
I was expecting something that dealt with actual game mechanics, but I find myself dumbfounded.
Could you explain a bit better.
I think this thread doesn't belong here, IMO.
I am interested in having such a deck, whether it already exists and is for sale or if I have to roll up my pencil and draw it myself.
If I am in the wrong forum, alas it is the story of my life! And besides, I thought this was the fluff forum and mine a fluff question.

The emperor's tarot is not necessarily a group of cards but the tremors in the warp as felt by psykers. The only cards that would be used would only be there to focus energy. Besides, in 38,000 years, I think that there would be a totally different card system than what we have now.
1500 years ago everybody knew the Earth was the center of the Universe
500 years ago everybody knew the world was flat
5 minutes ago you knew humans were alone on the planet
Imagine what you'll know tomorrow
The Emperor's Tarot isn't really magical in itself.. It's a focus aid for psychically scrying the future.. Like the human/Imperial equivallent of the wraithbone runes used by eldar farseers.
Some of the interactions of various cards and runes are likely important, but
really its the user who is scrying.
I think from remembering a previous discussion that we concluded non-psykers do use the tarot too sometimes, but only psykers can get any really info from it, the others just do so in the same way we might read horoscopes.. or in the belief that some of the Emperor's will might come through.
As for individual cards, I can't remember them ever having been mentioned, because they're not hugely important. I'd just use a standard deck and maybe make some adjustments in artwork and 'theme.'
Check the rules for old Epic 40,000 (not Space Marine and Titan Legions, the one after that). They have the Emperor's Tarot as playable cards, and then some as an expansion.
It bears no real relation to the real Tarot, there are no suits and the like. There are major and minor "arcana", but they're all individual cards.
1.There are 4 'suits' (as we would call them); Major and minor discordia and Major and minor Arcana
2.They focus a small portion of the Emperor's power, to influence the cards drawn, the reader had to deduce from there (as you probably know).
3.I think they are waffer-thin, metal edged, crystaline things.
I'm outta info...need...to...refill....

Ok, I just found everything I know on tarot cards (the emperor's, of course...)
There are 78 'cards' (Wafer-thin, hardened liquid crystal, cards) in a Tarot Deck.
Discordia: The suit of strife, although can also signify authority; these cards are comprised of enemies of the Imperium. Aliens, mutants and the likes. Some examples are the Chaos Renegade, and The Eldar Aspect Warrior.
Adeptio: The suit of vigorous work; Examples are The Space Marine, and the Assassin
Creatio: The suit of fertility; examples are Navigators, and Engineers.
Mandatio: The suit of stability; examples include the Inquisition, the High Priest and others.
Everything else stands, the cards in general are called Arcana. As far as I know, all this is official.
