Yes, another Luna Wolves

Yes, well like a few others on LO I have decided to start a pre-heresy Luna Wolves army list. I would like it to be led by Abbadon as he is the key character other than Horus. The only problem is, I don't know what wargear to equip him with as, being a pre-heresy army, Horus is still alive and well and uses his own claw things and Abbadon hasn't yet got the dark sword or whatever as he isn't chaos yet(correct me if that is wrong).
So, I was wondering if anyone could help me on this matter. I need to know:
What weapons he used;
Which armour: power armour or terminator armour?;
Any insignia he is known to wear other than just Luna Wolves iconography?

Any info would be much appreciated,

If memory serves, pre-heresy abbadon wears terminator armour while wielding a pair of lightning claws. Not completely sure on the weapon, though that is the type of armour he wore.

OK, thanks, but I thought the lightning claw things he used were only after the horus heresy because he took one of horus'? Or are these just regular lightning claws?

Just normal lightning claws. Of course being Lord Captain Commander (Remember this is the Great Crusade here.) of the first grand company these claws would obviously be master-crafted.

Being Captain of the First Company, Abaddon has access to anything he wants. L-Claws, Powerfists, whatever. Obviously, anything Daemonic won't be in his power yet, but any standard equipment is fine.

If going strictly by the new Horus Heresy novels, Abaddon wore Power Armour in the first book, and Terminator Armour on occassion in the second and third. I don't think he has a particular preference, but I can only recall one battle that the authors described his actions in, and he was wearing Terminator Armour in that case.

As for insignia, I don't think he had anything particularly special. He of course had the Luna Wolves (or Sons of Horus, if going that route) badge, and he'd have his Oath Scrolls attached to a shoulder pad. He'd also have the Lodge amulet somewhere, but highly doubtful that it'd be anywhere visible, for they're all but outlawed amongst the Astartes.

Yes, they were mentioned for sniping in the Galaxy in Flames book. How else would battle brothers gain their skills to become full marines?

The 'blades of the traitor' picture by sabretooth (I forget which Horus Heresy artbook its in) has a cameo by Abaddon.. He's the dude leading the terminator squad standing behind Horus.

Here's an image of the card based on it.. As you can see, he's already gone chaotic in this picture, but it seems to indicate that he used some kind of lightning claw (or maybe it's a powerfist.. You'll need to dig out the full picture) during the heresy.
