Warhammer 40,000 Top-Down Shooter Hey LO, Download Page NOTE: There are dev tools packaged with the download, I wouldn't touch these until I make a guide. COMPUTER REQUIREMENTS: -Must Be In 1024x768 Resolution -DirectX 8 or Better -A very good computer (Test, if it works at 28-30 FPS you're good, please reply with average FPS and computer specs) -For controls view options at the main menu I am working on developing a top-down shooter based on 40K, most of the sound, music and graphics are from Dawn Of War. Check throughout the topic to see what we have for the plot so far. The base of the plot is a Space Hulk emerges from the warp and you are part of a space marine chapter, the Warp Guard. Your job is to rid any space hulks of demons and get any survivors. Time to enter Space Hulk 666. Now, I need ideas for the story behind the ship that you find out as you go, and I need objectives. Objective List: -Get the power back on (there are no lights in the ship, just your trusty flashlight) -Retrieve as much data from the ship as possible -Find any survivors -Place bomb in Geller Field room, and get out alive Any ideas for the plot, objectives, or any other ideas you might have would be greatly appreciated. I also need an Idea for a name! Screenshots: ![]() Although the sound does a lot more than the graphics, there you go. Thanks, WarpBaby Last edited by WarpBaby; June 14th, 2007 at 19:34.. |

Well, if you're going for a complete layman's point of view, you could start off with finding the failed Geller Field generator, which then leads to why it failed, and thence various dæmon cult related clues crop up, revealing the path to damnation of a portion of the crew (including the AdMech, who could show up as possessed biomechanical monsters at various key points). Not sure entirely what the ultimate objective would be here (destruction of the ship? Although that does make the storyfinding process rather superfluous), but that's a start at least.

You could have a main plotline to retrieve something specific before blowing the ship. Classic and works well. - Enter ship - Locate data backups - Retrieve data - Enter reactor core and place bombs - Exit ship before detonation. Good luck with the game and let us know how it goes!

White Scar fanbois? They're dangerous. Like Hells Angels, except with chainswords and bigger guns...

Actually, that is a point... a whole company of a chapter like the White Scars going rogue would be a rare occurence. To be on the safe side, I'd just make it a normal Imperial vessel of some description.

The White Scars in my game didn't go rogue, they got sucked into the warp, most were killed by demons, and very few others were made into Possessed Marines, although I think I might have the ship Librarian have turned evil or something. There will be blood and gore to an extent, but its a top down shooter, so its not like uber 3d graphics. Thanks for the ideas! |

Having one turn rogue would work, I guess. Although exactly who would need to be kept shrouded for a long while. But meh, I guess I have an obsession with rogue Mechanicus. Can we get a link when the thing's done?

Yeah, I'll be posting links as I go, so you guys can give me advice. I'll probably have a little demo done in a couple of days. It'll be around 40mb's with background music, 20mbs without...I think. WarpBaby |
