My friend is a GK player but likes Chaos fluff and themes more than Imperial. We were thinking of how to mesh the two in a way that made sense. I had the idea that if a powerful Chaos Lord gathered empty suits of Terminator armor, demons could be bound inside them, close to the way Tzeentch marines are bound inside their suits. We reasoned this could gove the demons a permanent physical form and a significant boost in power. They could almost become a hit squad for their particular deity. The suits could be refigured to contain small amoutns of warp power to sustain the demons on their mission, as Chaos seems much better at augmentation etc. than Imperials. This made sense to both of us as a way to play GK but paint them Chaos and theme them as such. Just thought I'd share.
wow, i really like that idea.
i think you would have to come up for a damm good reason why a
handful of terminators suits are just left lying around ready for a chaos lord to get them,
or maybe he killed the the grey kinghts first and stripped them ?
just to note in the deamon hunters codex it clearly states that no grey knight has ever turned to chaos.so people might object to you or your friend using grey knight armour in a chaos army, but im a big fan of people doing what they want
after all there wouldnt be a 40kverse if it was not for us hobbyists.
and also just a quik note the 'Tzeentch marines' are thousand sons legion marines and they are more or less ghosts trapped in their sealed armour. but they do still have living marines ie sourcers (sp) .
I know about the Tzeentch thing, it was just a mild comparison. We did realize we couldn't just turn some GKs, that would realy never happen but GKs die all the time and no one is there to collect the armor, they have no Apothecaries or Tech-Priests. They could be easy pickings for a smart Chaos Lord.
You have this story in the chaos codex about the dude killing "the gray clad hunters of their kind", i'm sure that a chaoslord could bait and defeat a bunch of greyknights just to get some armour from them.
The kudos a lord would get with the dark gods for first kiling said knights and then desecrating their armour would be immense. Obviously it would have to be a very powerful lord!
I like the idea
Cool no worries.
'We did realize we couldn't just turn some GKs, that would realy never happen'
never say never.
you could do a anakin skywalker 40k version story.
a grey knight falls in love, ( is tricked into helping some chaos lord in order to save his girl )
kills his own squad. and then seeks revenge on the imperium.
just an idea.
One problem is the ani-daemon wards woven into the armour. In all the fluff I have read about them, a daemon can't even get close to the armour let alone wear it.
Your going in an collision course with just about every known fact about GK.
The don't fall for the poers of chaos and in their 10 millenia not even a single has fallen, also GK never leave their dead behind if they can't take em with them they will burn him to the ground to prevent his body and soul to be corrupted.
GK don't fall in love just like SM, they are dedicated to only a single thing all other are expunged so to leave to easy way in for the powers of chaos.
The suits themselves are designed to ward of deamonic powers by special markings inside the suit, a deamon within such a suit would get roasted by it.
You and your friend can use the models no problem but to call them fallen GK is going directetly against the fluff, still looking forward what you guys can come up with.
He isn't saying that he want corrupted GK, he talks about daemons bound to power armour/terminator armour and augmented by the Warp. It could work. Need to think 'bout it.
HeZu: the thing is that the GK don't do open engagements like 'normal' marines. They always know what they are going against and plan every little detail around it, they porbably have back-up plans for their dead (and GKs don't fall in battle to often either) to.
As Dreachon said, their suits are shining beacons warding of the Warp. No daemon or Warp-touched man could touch their armour or weapons without being killed or sustaining severe pain.

I dont think he means that.
but he does have a point about g.k never ever turning to the dark side.
( he he he !)
but the galaxy is a massive place, maybe a g.k sqaud could be forced to work
alongside the agents of chaos to tackle a bigger problem.
the c'tan anyone ??
by the way i have never seen any thing regarding a g.k never been left behind can you quote what book/codex/etc that came from.
edit :oh and i just read your post mighty camel, i agree there could be a chance if only the g.k armour did not have the woven agesis (sp) suit or this a detachable part of the armour im not sure. Cause if it is then its just fancy looking terminator armour. and should pose no problems for deamons.
