This might sound as a silly question, but I figure I'd ask anyway - since I'm starting out my Chaos Space Marine army, I'm really getting into the fluff idea. Plus I like writing short stories and thus I was wondering if it could be possible for the Chaos Lord or for 'a' Chaos Space Marine in general, hopefully an officer - to fall in love.
I realize this is irrelevant but it's important for me to know, for instance, should a group of Chaos Space Marine aprehend a scouting party of Eldar and take them prisoner, would it be possible at all for a 'captor-captive' senario such as the one in Troy? Where Achilles falls for his captive Priestess. In this case we'd be talking about a ruthless but ruggedly handsome Chaos Space Marine leader and maybe a beautiful captured Banshee or somesuch (since I wouldn't go as far as making it a farseer, which would probably puke at the thought of doing anything with a CSM) Would he still have the capacity to love and care for another living being other than just fuled by lust or gratification?
Yes. Yes it can happen.
A female guardian would probably be better than a banshee though. And she really would have to convert to chaos (rare yes but it can happen).
Unlike troy though I seriously doubt the eldar would want her back. Once she's been corrupted/friendly towards chaos she's treated as a traitor to the race.
Sounds like good fluff though so good for it.
That sounds awesome ^^ Thanks for the support, if she converts would she be more likely to be more of a 'Dark' Eldar then or would it be possible (though probably unlikely) for her to make him softer? Or more sensitive? Would love impact his outlook on things in some way or?
It might make him a bit less bloodthirsty but he would still be an evil bastard. She would also become a lot more evil. An interesting side effect though is that they might feel less inclined to accept daemonic gifts as that would alter their bodies.
And just making sure you know dark eldar are not chaos eldar. Quite the opposite in fact.
Although a great story could be how this chaos marine wants to abandon chaos and stop fighting. That would be a great dilemma for a chaos marine to be in as all his peers are bloodthirsty warriors. Maybe even try to get them both accepted into eldar society or whatnot?
And then the other option (and more fluffy) is to just have the evil duo leading the army.
Don't let fluff get in the way of short stories though. GW says often that the galaxy is a big place and if you can imagine it, it exists. So don't feel restricted by conventional fluff.
Tha fallen hero?
That's precisely what makes Chaos so interesting in my opinion.
I like the keen thrust of your mind.

Would the Eldar accept a human and not just a human but a tainted one by the Ruinous powers? - Man this is all great stuff, but whilst I may indulge in questions and ideas about it...
Ultimately what I'll probably go for is the second on the list, that they become an unstoppable duo. I might just have to get a little miniature for her too ^.^. Oh and I have this one last nagging question (I know I'm terrible, but it's exciting to learn about this!) would it then by consequence be possible for them to have offspring or does Chaos make a man sterile? It sounds silly, I know but I was just wondering if that would be possible at all. Seeing as in the Fantasy universe half-elves exist by mating between Elves and Humans, why not in 40K right?
(Do I need to list the many and varied reasons as to why this is a bad idea?)
I will if you ask, but for now I'll settle with: do not do it.

Why not? ^^; I've heard a lot of stuff that says 'yes' why not hear something that says 'no'. I want to know why you think it's a bad idea. As you've clearly emphasised by the many *No*s that you've put up there. Why shouldn't I do it?
I'm gonna come out and say I'm off differing opinion to the others.. I'm not going to say that they're wrong, but I just disagree.
Firstly.. Rugged and handsome chaos space marines? Chaos warps everything it touches, and chaos space marines are no exception.. Living in the eye of terror for 10,000 years has got to give you, at very least, a bad case of acne.
Chaos space marines with the capacity to love is.. probably the most interesting question. I'm not going to make any blanket 'no it can't happen' or 'yes it can happen' statements on this one, but suffice to say that chaos society likely places zero value on such things, even if it doesn't actively look down on them.
When you've been elevated above humanity, been exiled to hell by your own brothers in arms, lived for 10,000 years, seen generations wither to dust, watched worlds burn for the dark gods, can you still feel things like love? I'd say the capacity for love probably withers away together with other human failings.. Chaos is about rejecting humanity and elevating the strong, not fostering dependancy and weakness.
The other thing, which noone seems to have considered, is how the Eldar feels about this.. Eldar aren't human, in fact, most fluff sources seem to imply they find humans revolting, crude, ugly, dull witted creatures. Their language, culture and aesthetic sense is deeply sophisticated. I'd say that engaging in any kind of romantic behaviour with a being which, under all the armour and warped superhuman physique is still fundamentally a human is likely the equivallent of me having a relationship with a gorilla. Gorillas are nice animals, they're pretty smart as animals go, and they're very strong, but it doesn't really make me any more inclined to start up a romantic relationship with one, I'm afraid.
As for chaos Eldar, I'm always slightly leery about chaos eldar.. Kind of like a hamburger worshipping me in the hopes I won't get hungry and need a midnight snack.
Eldar and humans can't reproduce.. Eldar bodies may look vaguely human-analogue on the outside, but inside they're radically different. The eldar reproducive system in particular is.. really, really complicated.
Finally, converting from Chaos.. My feeling is that it's not possible. Chaos warps the mind as well as the body. Even if we assume someone has the willpower to resist the call and attempt to defect, well.. It breaks the pacts the chaos space marines made during the Horus Heresy. You don't wanna break a pact with a nigh-omnipotent uberbeing.
Not trying to slap you down, and it certainly seems like I'm in the minority here, so I doubt anyone's going to mind such a thing, but it doesn't quite mesh for me in theory. When I read the books and look at the artwork for chaos space marines I don't see dashing, charismatic antiheroes, I see people who have rejected humanity and all it stands for in exchange for something 'better.' While that's not really 'evil' to my mind, it's certainly inhuman, and love is a very human emotion.. Obviously, however, others don't see what I see, so we're free to differ.
No no ^^ I value all opinions, I've been reading about the Eldar Reproductive System on (the source of all knowledge, yeah right) Wikipedia, and yeah I've seen what it says and 'Oh well' is all I can give that hehe. I suppose it's obvious that you wouldn't retain much 'physical attractiveness' after being a Chaos Space Marine for many thousands of years, unless you were a DiCaprio to begin with so that part would make sense. Still one can't say that there might be some part that oozes Charisma.
