so i was thinking about how nurgle and the death guard use diseases and rot and stuff to their advantage, when i realized that it wouldn't help them at all against necrons or thousand sons rubric guys. the necrons are made of metal and the rubric guys don't have any bodies to infect. so how could someone justify those abilities being effective against them?
Simple, there are many kinds of diseases and plagues out there; some dissolve skin and armour upon contact. That would be the kind of stuff that Nurgle would make use of against thousand sons and/or necrons...

thank you very much. why didn't i think of that?
Things like the nurgle's rot rules are simplified.. 40k is a simple game. The same could be argued as to why weapons which use poison (like needle rifles) affect Tyranids or Space Marines.
And yeah.. as said, nurgle is the lord of entropy and decay. Things empowered by him don't just give the enemy a nasty cold, they physically rot or corrode them right there on the spot.

Their is actually a rule described in the 'cron codex that states it doesn't make sense that sniper's poison rounds would work on metal, so the sniper would prepare a corrosive ammunition instead. So powergamers like myself cant opt out of pinning effects and the like :shifty:
