Earth: Laborers, Scientists, Builders, and Artisans (Note an artisan is not the same thing as a performer)
Water: Diplomats, Traders
Air: Messengers, Space Force
Assuming that performances of any kind exist in Tau culture, who does them? Please back up any claims with a background reference.
Not being well versed in Tau Fluff, I can only assume that if entertainers of any kind exist in Tau society, they would be Water Caste. Why? The Water Caste are the one caste devoted most to persuading beings to a certain way of thinking.
A performer wants to entertain you, or persuade you to be happy. Water Caste members are depicted as natural-born actors, so wouldn't it make sense if they also are professional actors in society, since only so many can be used as diplomats or traders at any given time?
As said, if any it would be the Water caste, I think. But there's no saying that they have entertainers. How does it serve the Greater Good? They have news reporters, but in truth that's more or a propaganda engine. I'm not sure what caste they were, either. It's somewhere on the GW site.
Don't forget the rousing story of Battleship Po'Tem'kin that great tau epic.
I agree, probably water caste, since it affords excellent opportunities for propaganda.
And the follow up comedy series.
Water caste member: Why did the kroot cross the road?
Cuz an Ethereal told him too!
