Is it possible that there could be a half eldar half human? i heard something about one once.... post your knowledge or ideas here.
That would be som funny, some guy has an intercourse with an eldar female and she gives birth to a hybrid of some kind...weird, how do eldar reproduce anyway???
No. It's possible in some fantasy settings to get half-elves, but Eldar physiology is completely different from that of human beings. I'm not sure about the specific differences, so you should ask ze_poodle or the other fluffmasters.
Oh im sure its possible-in a test tube(Its W40k for gods sakes). Plus I could picture lone Eldar attempting it as a method to "hide" eldar souls.
I dont see the humpity-bumpity dance working though-the two species are FAARRRR too different despite certain superficial simularities-even if the old ones created us both..
Which means Eldar-on-Eldar action has to happen repeatedly at certain periods in their calendar, during specific times in order for the females to become pregnant. Making it hugely complicated.Eldar reproduction is speculated to be progressive, so that the gamete delivery would occur in stages.
You might also want to read my past thread (Love and Evil) about Eldar - CSM love, since a lot of people spoke about the Eldar anatomy and 1001 reasons why they CAN'T reproduce with humans, Chaos or otherwise. Some awesome stuff, Xerxes, Mantis, Poodle, The Spoon, Karmoon and MANY others replied to it. You might want to read up till page 4.

The Eldar physiology is vastly different to that of a Human. This includes their reproductive cycle; which is both lengthy and carried out in stages. At each stage the male Eldar adds more genetic material to the slowely developing foetus - making Eldar reproduction so different form the Human process to be completely incompatible. Few specifics are mentioned in the fluff I have read, as Imperial scientists know very little about this process, but it is safe to say it is highly unlikely a Human male could impregnate an Eldar female and for that conception to go on to a birth.
It is very unlikely it could happen the other way around as well (i.e. Human mother, Eldar father), but as no specifics on Eldar Male Gamete funtion are known it is impossible to speculate. I doubt it would be possible thanks to huge differences in physiology and DNA. Eldar DNA is so different (more dense/complex etc) from Human DNA that a combination of the two would be virtually impossible.
Maybe some sort of strange hybrid could be made in a lab, but again differences in Eldar and Human DNA mean any combination would be quite different from, say, mating two species of dog. That is to say I doubt you would end up with a midway point between Eldar and Human.
My 2 cent anyway. Hope it helped.
EDIT: Ah! Beaten to it by 4 minutes. Damn my slow typing. Well answered Adahn
The thing is basically that... short of the Old Ones comming back and tinkering with humans and eldar - there won't be any half-elfar babies running around.
The 'similarities' between the two *might* allow sexual intercourse between the two (but I won't get into why it's highly ulikely) but there won't ever be a baby out of it. No matter how much pearl jam Mr. Eldar pumps into Mrs. Human or vice-versa.
There is fluff to prove that even an SM might find an Eldar girl attractive, I think in Dawn of War Tempes, there's a particular Eldar Farseer whom everyone things is hawt as the fires of a forge world.
But anyway - I say let's all Hug the Mutant, Love the Heretic, and Wash the Unclean ^.^ Lotsa luvin' fer everbody!

Yeah. Thats why I would figure on it only being a test tube option-where by 40k tech standards, ANYTHING is possible.
The eldar have become more and more distant from humans with each version of 40k-although its probably possible for the two races to live together-or cohabitate on a planet or something.
There's an old fluff about an Ultramarine Astropath who was a human-eldar hybrid.
Taken from White Dwarf 97:
"Chief Librarian Astropath IlIiyan Nastase
Illiyan was born to a human mother on the world of Badab following the expulsion of the tyrant there in 912 of the current millennium. His father was an unknown Eldar mercenary. The youngster was gene-tested at birth in accord with the law and subsequently taken into Imperial custody. He was reared in the government compound by the Imperial Mission which took over the running of Badab after the war.
Along with other potential psychics he undertook the journey to Earth in 924 where further tests led to the eventual soul-binding in 925. From that point Nastase was recruited into the Administratum as an Astropath. He attained the ranks of Secundus, Prefect and eventually rose to hold Consulship for four years, helping to run Terra's advisory Senate to the Master of the Adeptus Astra Telepathica. Following this he undertook four years service with the fleet, a further two years with the Dark Angels Marines and was appointed as chief of the Macragge interstellar communications link under the jurisdiction of the Ultra-Marines (965). Nastase is now 76 rears old (current year 987) but, thanks to his parentage, shows few signs of age."
Probably this is the one you heard about.
Is all good...
