So I've painted my army to resemble the Ig regiment found in the cover of the old cityfight codex. Urban camo. Codex talks about how they fought against chaos cultists and the night lords chaos space marines ( got a buddy who has a prety large army of night lords) and only won the city back with the arrival of 2 companies of imperial fists. These guard have been through hell and a few of them have come out alive.
I'm trying to think of some possible fluff to go along with them, problem is that i don't know exactly where in the galaxy vogen is and where they would be likely to fight
also any other info the cadian 122nd would be awesome. Like where exactly the city of vogan is. I believe the planet's name is kazi san or something.

As for ideas for fluff... well the possibilities are endless. You could write about a single character and tell the story from his point of view, making it an internal narration... or you could do it from the General/Commander's point of view and how he oversees their situation. You could even do it from your own point of view, the classical Omniscient narrator, and just tell the story from different angles while going either into character development, or detail on the acctual methodology they employ when fighting.
You could even go with a stretch and do it from the Cultist point of view, and how they get their butts whipped ^^
Or you could go down the route of the journal of a guardsman/the commander etc. Or even go for the two so the reader can see the different perspectives of the situation between the higher levels of the command staff and the grunts. If you have read Xenology you will have seen how this sort of writing style works - it can make for a very interesting and entertaining read.
When thinking about where certain SM chapters will deploy forces, remember that it needent be anywhere near their homeworld. Some will travel far and wide to fight against the enemies of the Emperor. For example, within the same segmentum should be no problem.
