I'm about to paint a small unit of Crimson Fists and I'm unsure which hand is crimson! I thought it was the left (GW art) but have seen it with the right as crimson, too. 'How to paint Space Marines' has a squad (non-veteran) with both hands crimson. I believed that this was reserved for veterans.
Can someone please set me right?
No more NG spearmen, thanks! Now I need some pump-wagons!
it says that
"Black Templars painted their left hands red"
this may not be the correct hand, so i checked index astartes and it had a picture of a captain with a red powerfist over his left hand and a normal red righthand.
it would appear the lefthand is the one for troopers, and both hands is something for the leaders?
wikipedia says this:
"When an initiate joins the ranks of the Chapter his left glove is painted red, symbolic of Rogal Dorn's tradition of cutting the palms of new recruits and sharing his blood with them directly, creating a bond between them. When the Marine becomes a part of the Crusade Company, his right glove is also painted red."
all of this isn't really conclusive tho...
PM me for a extensive article on the CF's

Mr_Wayne: "Some people believe that the World Eaters do not field any ranged weaponry. Those people often die at a distance."
Everything I've read has been that regular CF's have a red right hand, and their left is painted red if they are 'veterans'.
Wikipedia reinforces this so I'm a little worried, some of the stuff has been known to be off by a smidge.
