This is a topic for people to air their unique armies, fluff text, special rules special leaders and such.

I wont post my own right now as im strapped for time, so will someone please start the ball rolling and give us a unique army idea that would fit into the 40k universe.

Btw, disco necrons and such is not the idea here.

I toyed with an IG army idea some time ago, but never got around to do anything about it.

Basic idea was Special Naval Landing Force, or SNLF (this is what Japanese called their Marines during WWII). They would be ship-borne infantry of Imperial Navy, ie. the guys that climbed into the boarding torpedoes and blew up enemy ships and equally repelled any enemy that made it to the capital ship of IN. Also I envisioned small landing made from 'show-of-flag' capital ship and small scale fighting against this and that enemy, when real IG was unavailable.

Build excatly like IG, they would have doctrines to match their purpose:
-Storm Troopers (Must on narrow corridors of ships)
-Carpace armour (equally so, especially if you use those closed structure fighting rules that Forge World came up with to descripe more restricted parts of ships)
-Special Weapons teams (to plant that explosive charge into enemy ship and blow its engines)

Also I would throw out the commissars as SNLF is more closely watched aboard the Navy ships anyway and they are IG 'thing'. Vehicles would also be in short supply, but it could be possible to have air-support in more reasonable cost.

Never worked out the kinks, but of course they would use Navy ranks. (Spaceman for Private, Petty Officer for Sergeant, Ensign for Junior Officer and so on.). possibly Navy-blue or white uniforms.

Raw idea, but if anyone want to use or do something with it, here it is.

doesn't seem very competitive! But I like it!
It seems like it could be fun, but I have no money for that kind of thing at the moment. This is a pretty good fluff to army project.

Squats with Necron rules? And without a doubt, they would be chanting:"We'll be back! Do you hear me GW? One way or another: We'll be back!"

I'm thinking, you just get the Monolith, say it's some sort of giant Squat mini-titan, then convert a Land Raider. Or like, take the wings off a Thunderhawk. And Scarabs are just Squat drone miners. Tomb Spyders are factory tanks that build stuff and mine on the move. Destroyers are Squats on huge bikes that ignore terrain by virtue of being huge.

Annoying Persistence: Squats leave an indelible impression on the worlds they inhabit. Once entrenched in the player's psyche, it is impossible to remove them - not even 'Nids and Lost in the Warp explanations can get them out. All Squats have We'll Be Back.

The Order of the Shadowy Flame is a LO clan for just this kind of thing if any of you want to stop by.

As for me I'm still trying to base my Codex: Farmyard Animals army. More unique than disco necrons.
Check out my Codex: Farmyard Animals here!

If anyone wants any kind of help writing fluff for any kind of GW army just ask.

Now this isn't probably all that original, but here it goes:

My army is mechanized engineers (sappers, as you might call 'em). Nothing really too much for them rules wise, they're pretty much your normal mechanized army. The variety comes in their specialist engineer chimeras. They're gonna have bridge layers, mine rollers, etc....

Competitive? Probably not. Unique? Probably not, but it gives me an opportunity for some different conversions for a Chimera. Which is justification enough for me

Im been planing a choas eldar army. right now people are probably like dont they already have dark eldar. But no im refering fluff wise to a evil craftworld that made a pack with one of the other choas gods, im thinking tzeech, to protect them from she who thists in exchange for magical eldar atrifacts and eternal servitude. The craftworld is always looking for converts and is run by a powerful X seer turned choas sorcerer. Still working on details but my models look badass and my army list is coming along nicely. it includes models and stats from the most recent dark eldar codex, eldar codex and choas codex.

There was a canadian event before Medusa V starring the Black Templars and one of those were on a craftworld that had fallen under the sway of Tzeentch. The Farseer looked awesome, too.

Basically, a Farseer got a daemon artifact and got corrupted.
