Quotes from Red vs. Blue
I dont think anyone can reply there. Before the sacred time when the emperor was bound to machines to survive, nothing was left. The emperor demanded that all scriptures of the past be burned and destroyed. Atleast thats what I got...
I read something about it some time ago, unfortunately I cannot remember where...
Something about men of Earth and Men of Iron, Earthmen being the ruling class. Men of Earth modifies their race creating a warrior subrace (men of Iron) to do their fighting.. In that time the Emperor to be walks the Earth as a "regular" grunt
Then there was something about a lot of infighting as the Ironmen belive themselves superior to the Earthmen and the "empire" tears itself apart in big bad battles. At some point the Emperor steps up and takes control, uniting the human race. Maybe inspired by the Ironmen, the Emperor refines the technology to create superhumans and makes the Primarchs... Something like that...
I don't know if this is "true", but as I remember this was basically what it said... If somebody knows for sure I'd like to know too
I remember that. But the Iron Men were literally, men of iron. They were robots created to do the fighting for mankind, and they rose up in rebellion.
i think it was alot like it is now. mEGALOMANIAC is your avatar Johnny the homicidal maniac??
The Iron Men rose up against Mankind and their servants the Men of Stone (the creators of the Men of Iron, The Men of Stone are Golems of some sort created by Humans). This revolt coincided with the emergene of psykers which lead to complete anarchy as demons used them for portals into the material world. The war with the Men of Iron left much of human civilization destroyed. Thus, the ban on souless creatures led to the construction of the servitor cyborg, beings that were machines but technically possessed a soul. Earth was ravaged by various warlord factions and the same was repeated on most worlds. Warp storms isolated most systems. The Golden Age of Mankind (a.k.a the Dark Age - this is because Imperial scholars know very little about this time so although the term is used correctly it is a bit of a misnomer) lasted for ten thousand years before the Age of Strife (which lasted 5,000 years). The Navigator gene was isolated and so the Navigator Houses came to wield vast power. The use of Navigators allowed humans to make incredibly long voyages through the Warp. This acheivement, coupled with the perfection of the Standard Template Construct allowed mankind to spread across the galaxy in a relatively short time. Since humans were at their pinnacle of technological endeavor, they were able to successfully fight off the Orks and the Eldar, the two most common species they ran into. But there was no centralized government as most worlds used their hypertechnology to isolate themselves or subjugate aliens.
