Thinking of making my chapter one of the missing legions, could the primarch still be alive or what? and also what do you think of his custom weapon the "longbow" its a bolter with sniper rifle range and wounds on a 3+ also its rapid fire
awwwww. but thats what they are there for arent they?
Also, this should be in the Army Fluff forum, so I'm gonna move that there.
well i personally think its ok between you and your friends but not with others from your local Gw shop
Chaos is a decison not a life
Making up your own fluff and including history of one of the lost legions is perfectly fine, and it can make a refreshing change to the usual SM armies that are usually seen. Obviusly some Evil minded people would do this purely so they could give a space marine army Uber rules and gain an unfair advantage table top wise... but amongst friends Experimenting with fluff and rules can be a new Avenue to explore in the hobby.
For example me and my buddies are working on rules for pre heresy Armies, sure we cant use them in a GW tourny, but we will have hella fun Restaging the burning of prospero.
so yes, i say credit to some one who wants to use there imagination and good luck with making up some cool fluff about one of the lost legions
Army of the heavens, my army waits in hell
To battle on the earth, for all the souls who fell
If you actually do this then:
1. You'd better have a really, really good reason as to why he's been deleted from the records. Even better than being corrupted by Chaos. (heh, like kneeing the Emperor in the groin)
2. If he's never been found by the Imperium then he won't have access to SM, or modern technology for that matter (aka, everything will be pre-heresy designs).
Aside from that do whatever you want. My personal opinion is that one of the primarchs was killed as an infant and the other was declared a heretic pre-heresy.
A youth with his first cigar makes himself sick; a youth with his first girl makes other people sick. - Mary Wilson Little
Is it fluffily possible? I don't think so.
The appearance of a Primarch would cause all kinds of trouble in the Imperium. Then theres the fact that to accurately reprsent a Primarch in the actual game he would have have to be Impossibly strong.
My suggestion would be to simply do a normal chapter. However, if you wanna do it then by all means do.
hmm. good ideas all, ive been thinking and what i really wanted is just my own chapter background and that custom "sniper-bolter" not an m40 blah blah blah. also i wanted to give my leader some fun rules changes related to his chapters preference in war,....LONG RANGE. Ik you may think. "SM long range?" but i think that with WWs and devs, mixed with alot of las, HB, and ML in tac squads which play second fiddle to Sniper scouts can make it happen. The rules i wanted were to the effect of, reroll failed WWs pie plate scattering, and the ability to call in fire from the fleet. in ( and i think DH has something like this, if so id just use that rule) the way of 4 pie plates coming down with str 7 ap 3 hits, what do you think about thaT?
You also can't ally heavy support, so you can't use the Inquisitorial orbital bombardment.
Personally I don't like the idea at all. The idea of an SM hero sitting on his butt popping a few bolter rounds (or even a sniper round if you were playing with your own rules) is comparitively unheroic and wasteful of his statline. Perhaps try a Librarian if you want a shooty HQ.
