I was recently thinking about making a new character for Inquisitor and implored what it would be like if I made him for 40k. He is an assassin for any army against beside Tyranids and Necrons. Im short on time so here is his fluff.
There have always been imperial cults ranging from small groups of civilians to whole systems. This cult known as the Order of the Blessed Form is a long living order made up of the adeptus mechanicus. They believed that the only reason the Emperor has not come back yet is he has no body, so the strive to make him a body that can hold his godly essence.
Over the Millenia they have made many attempts to create a body resulting in some of the most dangerous individuals in the entire galaxy. Recently a branch of the order on the forge-world of Hyperius IV, have made the most recent of the attempts at a powerful body. From a direct order from the Magos that leads the order, they were supposed to pick up convicts for servitor treatment as usual but sneak away an extra one.
The convict they chose was an ex-guardsmen sergeant who was kicked out for killing his leader. They took him to a hidden lab and mind wiped him except for his battle experience and augmented his eyes and ears with bionics. They used a extremely rare polymer that was incredibly resistant and strong, and bonded it to his skin. They augmented his anger and ruthlessness which made him have an almost love for killing. With his augmented
They set him up on a planet and tasked him to kill a heretic leader, the task included no weapons and must be done in one week. He managed to find the leader quickly and threw a wall at him after killing half a regiment of PDF with his bare hands. When the AM came to retrieve him he killed the Tech-priests and took the ship, becoming a killer for higher. He has since been sighted killing many leaders and their bodyguards, working for any-army as long as he gets as many kills as possible.
Sounds kinda like Nuke. The 70's Captain America.
1) Not too different from most assassin backgrounds, so you'd be fine just saying he's a rogue Eversor, or Vindicare - no need to do anything to make him "special" when he doesn't need to be.
2) Cloning's kinda a heretical art in the Imperium, and this whole "create a body" thing sounds too close to it. The AdMech only clone to make cheap Servitors, and that's just vat-grown muscle and bone.
Comments: Rather than explaining his strength as a "extremely rare polymer" (polymers are synthetic, so I can't see how you could ever find a rare one...just by analysing it you could figure out how to make more) connect it more to the AdMech and say his strength is from mechanical or bionic enhancements - much more than just eyes or ears, but, say, replacing his entire skeletal structure. This gives you two things:
1. It puts more distance between your guy and the existing Assassins, who are essentially what you've described.
2. It pushes the "inhumanity" theme - he's literally a killing machine.
3. It makes him like Robocop, and Robocop is awesome.
Also, I'd drop the "body fit to hold the Emperor's essence" thing. It's...well, it's insane. But I guess insane cults are the standard.

Come, sons of LO! Kneel before Poodle!
Mr_Wayne: "Some people believe that the World Eaters do not field any ranged weaponry. Those people often die at a distance."
thanks for the ideas but i have some things to say. For the cloning i didnt say anything about that. On the Polymer, this is the imperium they arent allowed to make what doesnt have a stc, so it would be rare to come into its posession. The Cult is a main theme and it explains why he would be made, and sure as hell might be weird cults in the Admech.
Lastly he is not very much like the current assassin he uses no weapons besides himself.
The Idea behind him is Rhino from the Spiderman Comics.
i dont think its that they arent allowed to make anything that isnt from an STC, its just that their best and most reliable stuff comes from STC's. Considering how rare STC's are, its doubtful that every invention in the imperium comes from an STC.
Wokey's got a good point, although due to the dogmatic mindset of the AdMech it would take a looooong time before they accepted it as new doctrine, whatever it was.
Regarding the "no weapons beside himself" argument, look at the Culexus model. Beyond the Animus Speculum, which does nothing but augment the assassin's natural abilities, he needs no weapons.
And the cloning thing I do see as nice and flavourful, if slightly counter to mainstream AdMech dogma, although possibly slightly unnecessary given the Admech cult you're created (I see it as an "artificial Thorian" cult). The AdMech support the Emperor because they consider him the Omnissiah, the machine god incarnate, venerated for his knowledge. Such a thing does not need a body as such, although I don't really see how creating a body fits in with your main idea anyway. If the guy's a patched-up veteran sergeant, he doesn't need one. If he does have a new one, then how do they transfer his consciousness without first going the the Right of Pure Thought, which may (although it's not certain) mean that he's less likely to go rogue like you suggest.
And also, if this cult is dedicated to producing a body fit for the Emperor, why would they be tampering with his mind at all? Firstly the Emperor already has his own consciousness which they would plug into the body rather than create from scratch, and secondly even if they had some leeway over creating his mental states, why would they want an aggressive Emperor? Ruthless maybe, but not one who's likely to get angry at something relatively unimportant and thus make a bad decision.
The reason for altering his mind is, if they didnt he wouldnt use the body to its full capabilities and most likely die, so they need his mind.
As for all the Admech stuff, its not really relevant. I just used them for the fluff as it seems easier to explain why hes suped up.
Also I said nothing about cloning.
Like I said before hes like Rhino from the spiderman comics.
