dude look at the rules ad regs about this section. Questions arent supposed to be asked here, only the fluff about your army. Sorry.
A feral Ork is a happy Ork.
Well i see alot of people asking Q's so i think it is fair to say i can.
Its all good Taipan
Create flames for a galaxy and it will be warm. Put a galaxy in flames and it will be warm for the rest of it's existence.
Ugh, there's SOOOO much to write about the Old Ones. Wait for Xerxes or something. Or try a search.
I'll give you the brief:
- Old Ones had complete power over the universe, lived for millenia, power over the Immaterium etc
- Necrotyr got jealous and fought Old Ones, always lost
- Necrotyr got in contact with C'Tan
- The C'Tan fought the Old Ones and turned the Necroytr into Necrons to help them
- Old Ones made Eldar and Krorks (Orks) to fight Necrons/Old Ones
- Lots and lots of fighting, Old Ones started losing
- Immaterium (aka Warp) became unstable and Enslavers emerged
- Enslavers killed nearly everything - most Old Ones died, Necrons/C'Tan went into hibernation
- Eldar survived, took over galaxy
- Fall of the Eldar
- Imperial appeared and gained power
There's some info here on GameReplays. The subject of "Eldar Lesbianism" has gone completely off topic into SMs, Old Ones, C'Tan and lots more. Lots of fluff there actually. Just read through it, I think the stuff about Old Ones starts on p4 or p5.
It is thought that the remaining Old Ones became Eldar Gods.
As far as what they physically are, I'm not sure (as with Chaos Gods etc, just confusing). I'm pretty sure the Old Ones were a race of beings and did have physical forms, probably normal Eldar/Ork/Necron etc size.
How big are C'Tans? And do they have a physical form, or just Essences?
They're sentient energy beings.. In their real forms, they just look like a big mass of energy.. That's why when they die in game they kill everything around them, the real form spills out and burns things.Originally Posted by PaRaSiTe_X92
Their physical form is the necrodermis, which is a metal shell designed by the Necrontyr to house them and allow them to interact more easily with physical creatures.
As for size, I'd imagine it depends on lots of things.. I wouldn't put it past them to be able to change size at will either, since they're just energy. Even at the smallest, they're the size of a large blast radius in game.
My theory has always been that the old ones were interdimensional, hence why they 'crossed through' into the fantasy universe as well (presumably by hopping through the warp using their warp gates, I've always had the idea that the two universes are parallel, but connected to the same warp space between.) But that's just a theory of mine, it's not based on any official fluff.
They were also very powerful psykers, but had complete mastery of their own psychic nature, and thus didn't create any nasty ripples in the warp like less controlled sentient beings.
Other than that, we know very little..
I don't think the Eldar gods were the old ones (although 'Xenology' claims so.) My understanding of them was that they were psychic weapons created either by the old ones or by the early eldar to help the Eldar in their war against the C'tan and/or Chaos, but I can't remember where I read that..
I find this stuff really hard to imagine and get my head around, sorry.
So you believe the Eldar made their Gods like they made Slaanesh, but obviously without the corruption and mass suicide?
A Chaos God is a sentient embodiment of human emotion reflected onto an immaterial dimension. A C'Tan is like...a quantum reality distortion. Like a walking nuclear fusion reaction that doesn't necessarily have to not explode in your face. It just chooses not to at this present moment in time.
See, C'Tan and Necron technology in general works by the laws of physics. The C'Tan are beings so utterly in tune with those laws that, like LaPlace's Demon, they can work with and around them at will. Warp entities don't have to pay attention to the laws of physics, and ignore them completely. That's why they often manifest in imaginative or iconic ways - horns, claws, spikey bits or unnecessary bosom in the case of the Daemonettes. C'Tan are like sentient stars. A constant chemical reaction that has learned to think for itself.
The Old Ones, I would presuppose, were a race that had learnt to manipulate the Warp as the C'Tan manipulated physics...like a race that lives in multiple dimensions. Unfortunately, they fell to the Enslaver Plague (which is real old-school fluff) which nearly annihilated the race, and the C'Tan were therefore on the verge of victory before the Deceiver convinced them to go eat each other. Or was that Cegorach? Ehh. Anyway, there's only four C'Tan left, and no Old Ones, so Manifest Nuclear Reactions 1 Omnipotent Warp Beings 0.
For the purposes of metafiction, the Old Ones are the creator race that is responsible for all the screwed up happenings in 40k, and also for why so many alien races are humanoid - because the Old Ones thought it was a nice, economical form that could be easily repeated. Hence why Eldar look like elves and Orks like orcs. The Old Ones created many races (but not specifically humans themselves) to serve as soldiers in the war against the C'Tan, who possessed the inorganic Necrons. The Eldar were their original master race, but suffered from a fatal flaw (obsession) that the Old Ones predicted would lead to their ultimate doom, and did. They made the Krork, who were the proto-Orks, as the ultimate warrior race, in the form of a race that feeds off war. It's entirely possible they seeded life on dozens of planets, or even created the Tyranids. The Orks and Eldar are the only two who have been definitively listed as Old One creations.
Now, WHFB Old Ones had those fat-ass frog-men to help them out, so there's somewhere to start with in the What Do They Look Like category. Bloated frog-wizards. That float. Classic.
