    Imperial Guard Transport Ships

Can someone post a picture of the types of ships that the Imperial Guard use to transport troops... I can't find one... because i don't know what to google. I tried "Troop Transport Ships of the Imperial Guard" But this failed.

I need em so i can draw them in a new flash move i'm making.

    Cheers

    Slagila

the imperial guard don't have transports or any spacecraft for that matter, they are transported by the imperial navy.

This was changed after the horus heresy, before that all military power was organized around the space marine legions.

After the the heresy the imeprial navy was inc harge of all the transporting and spacecraft and the imperial guard where left with (perhaps) a few space-to-surface transporters and the space marines can only have a certain number of specialist craft like battle barges and so on.

HeZu hit the nail on the head, - imperial commanders are no longer trusted with both a big kick ass army of doom AND the ability to transport said army around the cosmos at will, they may get funny ideas about empire making...

as for finding pics, try googling imperial navy transports or some such.

They get Valkyries, which are just troop aircraft. The Navy reserves exclusive rights to dropships and spacecraft; the Guard still has its own airborne troop ships. They just can't leave the atmosphere, to stop rogue regiments from being able to raid other worlds in the event of a schism similar to the Horus Heresy.

Other than that, check Forgeworld. They have big resin models of the superheavy fliers.

If you look on the cover of The Guns of Tanith there are the Elysian's drop ships and if you wanted to you could draw a Drogue, a flyer big enough that it holds 6 Marauder Fighter-Bombers and the drops ships. Good luck with the flash movie

You can also try the Battlefleet Gothic website and the PDA's on the Specialist Website.
