This is my first battle report and it took place this afternoon at my local battlestations and featured myself (Eldar), my friend Sean (Tyranids) and my other friend Scott (Daemonhunters). We had just finshed painting our armies and went to games workshop to try them out, so the sides were ilegal but with only the Tyranids outside the 325-375pt range. Although it was all-against-all me and scot were both going against the Tyranids.
The table was 5' x 3' and was civered in small patches of trees, some with craters, and with a rocky plateau on one corner. This left a lot of clearings in which to fight battles but meant that lucky shooting couldn't influence the course of this small point game.
-10 Dire Avengers inculding my stupid Exarch proxyed for one with dual shuricats.
- Hive Tyrant with Venjom Cannon and Scyting Talons
- Broodlord with 6 Genestealers with rending talons.
- 10 Genestealers with rending talons.
- 10 Genestealers with rending talons.
-1 Greyknight Justicar and 10 Grey Knights including 2 incinerators and a psycannon.
Scott deployed his Grey knights behind an embankment on the corner 5' from the plateau hoping for Seans Stealers to go for me first.
I deployed my DA's in the clearing next to the plateau ringed by 3 pieces of cover 16" away.
Sean deployed his in the middle of the other side of the board with the hiver Tyrant closest to my side and two squads of genestealers on it's left towards the Grey knights.
He then infiltated his Broodlord and bodyguard opposite a patch of cover that surrounded me. I was worried until I remebered Eldrad's divination ability, roled a 5 and moved both my DA's and eldrad onto the plateau.
Sean moved his Tyrant into LOS of Eldrad (I had forgotten about it when I moved onto the plateau) and took 4 pot-shots at Eldrad with it's venom cannon of which 3 hit, 2 wounded and one passed my invulnerable save. But becuse of its strength 8 Eldrad was instantly killed leaving me with less than half my original points.
One squad of stealers ran around patches of cover towards my DA's, while another moved to the other side of the embankment the Grey knights were coweirng behind. The broodlord and co. moved into the open between cover and managed to just fleet through the cover into a crater lined by trees.
Scott' grey knights ran from behind their cover and opened up with their guns taking 5 down with the inceinerators alone and rest with their stormbolters; leaving themselves uncontested that turn.
I rolled a 2 for moving through difficult terrain and then seeing the stealers in the crater still out of range fleeted another 2" moving half the squad of the top of the plateau and out of LOS with the Tyrant. Nothing else happened.
Broodlord and Co. moved out of their crater and fleeted straight into the Grey knights ripping apart one of the heavily amoured mon-keigh. The grey knights responded in kind with flashing nemesisforce halberds and killed one of the clawed tyranids. Both refusing to budge they remained locked in combat. The zoanthrope following close behind but out of LOS
The remaining stealer squad sreamed out of cover into the open to attack the DA's on their next turn and behind and beside them stood the Tyrant who fired it's venom cannon, vaporising only one the 5 Dire avengers not behind a rock.
The grey knights fought on, the genestealers already having taken down another 3 of their brethren, causing 4 more tyranids to fall to the flashing strength of their nemesis force weapons.
The Dire Avengers raced out of cover, emptying their guns into the genestealers as they ran, causing the entire swarm of genestealer to fall to their bladestorm. Leaving them out in the open.
The Hive Tyrant thundered toward the stranded Dire Avengers and melted down two of the Eldar with it's venom cannon before charging into them and ripping four of the Dire Avenger apart with it's scything talons. The Exarch and the remaining two DA's struck back and removed one of the Hive Tyrants wounds.
The Broodlord rended another Grey knight apart and the Justicar and the other three grey knights, one armed with a psycannon killed both the Broodlord and the remaining genestealer.
The Dire avengers fought on but their attacks bounced off chitin armour and the Hive tyrant impaled them all on it's scything talons, removing the eldar menace once and for all.
The Zoanthrope moved into LOS of the Grey knights, passed it's psychic test and blasted apart another two members of the Ordo Malleus with a blast of warp energy.
The Justicar and the last Grey knight fired at the floating zoanthrope and blessed bolts killed the Psychic tyranid left its ungainly carcass lying on the forest floor.
The hive tryant moved back into cover toward the grey knights and waited for the Greey knights to come into his line of sight.
The Justicar and knight moved toward the Hive tyrant and fired, only one blessed round penetrating both the foliage and the Tyrants tough chitin.
The Hive tyrant characteristicly roared out of cover and blasted down the Psycannon wielding Grey knight with it Venom cann before charging and skewering the Justicar on the end of a long talon.
This match was pretty much a stuff around with our newly painted or revamped models. And Ithink the board was a but large for sucha low point game, but it was a pretty good fight!

Umm, just a heads up, the nid player had 2X your points, somewhere in the area of 700pts.
Besides that, sounds like a fun game=)
