Well LOs been offline for a bit so I'm just getting around to posting this now. I wouldn't really call it a battle report, because frankly, who could possibly remember everything that happened in an Apoc battle right?
Here are some pictures and I will try to explain each the best I can
Firstly there's the setup:
There were about 18000 points on each side. On my side there was 2 Tyranid 1 13th company, 1 Ultramarines, 2 Black Templar, and 1 DIY Space Marine armies
Final Shot of Our Side:
On the opposing side there was a Massive IG army with 3 Baneblades, and 2 Space Marine full Companies with 1 Baneblade each and a Thunderhawk, as well as a fair sized Iyaden Eldar Army
Final Shot of Their Side
There was a third Neutral Side with a ton of fliers that would randomly fly by and harrass us.
We kept most of our stuff off the table so we could flank march them:
Unfortunately their Ambush Strategic Asset killed like 1/3 of the stuff we had in reserve...
Some memorable moments:
First landing of the Thunderhawk:
An assassin pops out to try and clear an objective. Kills almost a whole squad of assault marines
Flyers Descent of wreck Havoc on our army
The Space wolves Player's "Red Rover Setup" to prevent up from entering via Flank March
Genestealers charging up the arse of a squad of Blood Claws, didn't go too well for the SWs
Scythed Hierondule sneaking up on Dante
A squad of assault terminators pops down in the middle of nowhere, too far to assault anything and in range of a few tanks...uh oh
Middle of Turn 2
The Wraithguard take the objective in their Waveserpent:
Death Company proves how touch they really are by surviving round after round of charges:
An Epic Battle Between Mephiston and a Broodlord:
Here's how that battle turned out. Mephiston, cuts down the Broodlord with his Force Weapon , only to be ninja'd from behind by a sneaky genestealer:
A Tyrant about to make short work of some Wraithguard:
A carnifex combining fire with a long fang to wipe out some guardsmen
Tycho, who is so excited to have killed a carnifex with his meltagun fails to notice the 34 gaunts running up behind him. He holds them off for 2 combats but eventually succumbs to sheer numbers:
Ragnar Blackmane, who has cut down squad after squad of our marines, eventually runs facefirst into my terminator's powerfist
Bike sweep in to take an objective:
Assault Marine vs. Tyrant...hmmm....
Oh crap, getting charged by a wraithlord:
The Table around turn 3.5:
Logan Grimnar, who costs as much as a land raider, finally gets caught by a charging broodlord and his retinue. He holds up for a bit but is eventually rended to death.
A Large pack of Fenrisian wolves charge up a building to wipe out a squad of wraithguard and their warlock to take an objective:
All in all, a great game. A lot of special Characters showed up, few of them survived:
Tigurius, Chief Librarian of the Ultramarines: caught under an orbital bombardment
Mephiston: Death by genestealer
Apothecary Corbolo: Survives
Captain Tycho: swarmed by gaunts
Ragnar Blackmane: squished by powerfist
Logan Grimnar: Death by genestealer
Dante: I believe it was death by Trygon...can't remember tho
Amazing game in all. Took the span of two days to play and probably the best game I've participated in, mainly due to all the painted models and the friendliness of the people in the group.
NICE!!! Looks like a lot of fun.
Neutral Flyers coming to harass us, lol
Loks like alot of fun, how long was this battle in total ? 6 hours? 12?
Apocalypse is getting really popular it seems. The GW webspace is full of them, and there have been at least 4 already at my local club. Looks like it really is becoming an alternative way to play to the old tourny style 1500-2000pt matchups that used to be so universal.
That was a fun battle report, loved the pictures. Apocalypse does look like an amazing amount of fun.
WELL! lol who won!!?
PM me about Aurora Prime Vassal fights! Willing and ready!
Haha whoops, the 2 space marine company, IG and Eldar won with 3 objectives to 2........
WELL! lol who won!!?I think the whole game took the span of about 15 hours to playLoks like alot of fun, how long was this battle in total ? 6 hours? 12?
Just outa curiusity but do you work with cause there were a number of red shirts and previous red shirts their (Jordan cameron , Kevin Hesketh , Ryan Slopsziak)
i wasted my whole life on warhammer so it's a good thing i have 2 wounds and a 2+invul
I love the nids in those pics. My Gw did a 16000pt Apoc game a month or two ago, it was sweet.
Good eye! No I've never been associated with GW, I just happened to join a gaming club that a few former redshirts are a part of. None are redshirts anymore though. Jordan's the manager of the Oakville bunker now and Kevin's with Direct Services, you may have seen their armies from the battle in the Paint of Die 2 page.Just outa curiusity but do you work with cause there were a number of red shirts and previous red shirts their (Jordan cameron , Kevin Hesketh , Ryan Slopsziak)
