Hey so I had my first game in MONTHS today against my mates brother, and boy was it frustrating. I don't remember the exact scores at the end mind you so if that bothers you for whatever reason, I'm warning you now so ya don't have to read it all
HQ: Dracon, T.helm, Punisher, 4 Incubi, 2 Warriors, Raider, Plasma grenades.
Elites: 10XWyches with Wyche Weapons, Succubus with Agoniser, Raider.
Troops: 2x Sniper Squads (10 Warriors, 2 lances)
2x Footsloggers (12 Warriors, 2 Splinter Cannons)
Fast Attack: 4x Reavers, 2 blasters
5x Reavers, Succubus with Agoniser
Heavy Support: 2x Ravagers, 3 dissies on each.
I probably missed some grenades somewhere, I can't find my list:p
His List -mind you, I don't know the DH codex so im not sure on alot of stuff:/
HQ: Inquisitor + 10 henchmen, tooled
Grand Master, really tooled, I think he was about 200 points. Attached to 4 Grey Knight Terminators
Vindicare Assassin (I think thats Elites?)
Troops: Inducted guardsmen Platoon. Can't remember how many, sorry.
Grey Knights x9 with Flamers? Whatever they're called.
Heavy Support: Leman Russ Battle Tank
Now that seemed no where near enough to me but he assured me it was 1500 points.
We played Cleanse, Gamma. I won the roll to go first. His Terminators, and for some reason his Grey Knights (I wasn't aware they could) started in reserve.
Here Is my super artistic drawing of the battlefield at the start of the battle.
My Turn One
As he had most of his Marines in reserve, preparing to deepstrike, I decided to keep my Lord raider and CC jetbikes back, moving them into the village for cover. My AT Bikes moved 24" behind the trees at the top of the map. My ravagers moved forward with my Wyche raider to behind the exceedingly high bunker, ready to strike en masse next turn. All my warriors moved forward and fleeted, my top-most sniper squad heading into the bunker, the other one around to the bottom of it. I ended my turn without firing a shot.
His Turn One
Opting to hold his ground, my Dh mate fired his battle cannon at my badly-hidden ravager, scoring a direct hit but only killing 2 warriors standing nearby. His Vindicare Assassin took a shot at the Ravager, Shaking the crew.
My Turn Two
I continued my advance with my warriors, all of my lances now in position and my Splinter cannons in range of his guardsmen (barely). The AT Bikes made another 24" move to just above the hill (on the map), ready to move within range and fire on the Leman Rsuu in turn three. My ravager, parked below the bunker opened fire on his guardsmen, killing all but 3.
His Turn Two
See that big grey X? Thats where his Grey Knight Marines Deep Striked. I couldn't help smiling. Apon landing, they fired at the Wyche raider, sitting above the bunker on the map. The raider had moved 24" that turn, but couldn't avoid the masses storm bolter fire. It crashed, killing all but three of my wyches. Bugger. His battle cannon again fired at a ravager, destroying a disintigrator. The Vindicare followed suit, this time failing to damage the thick card-board skin of the Ravager.
My Turn Three
Annoyed that my Wyches had been killed, I pulled back some of my SC warriors to the right of the hill near my deployment zone. The AT bikes finally moved into position to the right of the right-most hill. I chose to fire on the battle tank, took the tape measure and measured. 13". Not to worry I said, and fired my 3 remaining lances (one had dies first turn) at the Battle tank, managing to stun the crew. Now, it was Grey Knight melting time. I aimed all 5 of my remaining dissies at the tightly packed Grey knights. They were all dead after the third template.
His Turn Three
His terminators and Grand Master failed to arrive, after seeing what happened to their battle brothers, I can't blame them. The Inquisitor and Henchmen moved towards my AT bikes and Assaulted them, destroying them all without any losses. BuggerX2. He consolidated to the base of the right-most hill. The assassin took yet another shot at a ravager, knocking off another dissie.
My Turn Four
I started by moving a unit of my SC warriors near the hill the Inquisitor was hiding behind, waiting for the Henchmen to advance. I used one of my ravagers to finish off the Guardsmen in the trench with a single blast. My Lances again stunned the crew of the Leman Russ. At this point I was feeling pretty darn cocky.
His Turn Four
After changing his armour, the Grand Master and his Terminators Deep Striked on the big grey X. Their storm bolters failed to damage my nearby Ravager. His Inquisitor's Retinue made his way up the hill and fired apon my warriors, killing 4. The assassin yet again failed to down my Ravager.
My Turn Five
I smiled and began to move my troops. My Lord disembarked, my CC reavers moved out of the village, my remaining Wyches moved forward, my Ravagers turned to face the Terminators and my other SC squad moved within a few inches of them. "Should I just assault them guys?" I asked the other four guys who were there. I sort of felt sorry for Mr DH as he had barely killed a thing and wanted to give him a chance. This decision proved almost fatal. In the mean time, my Lances yet again stunned the Battle Tank. My warriors returned fire, downing 4 henchmen. The scene below seemed really funny at the time, even for Mr DH. I circled his men for you
I charged with my Retinue, Wyches and, I actually said this, my reavers, "Just in Case". On the charge I only killed 2 Terminators, Which was a bit dissapointing. Last time I charged Termies with incubi and a lord I killed 5+ a Wolf Lord. Of course, I dont have my S6 Archon. Anyway, somehow he managed to kill off all my Incubi in the one round of combat.
His Turn 5
Resolving the combat, My lord only managed to kill one more terminater, the succubus felling the other one. At this point, my opponent started asking me how to use force weapons. As I explained to him, I had him roll his attacks. He killed my Dracon. WHAT!??!?!? Oh and when I rolled my Wyches attacks, I rolled six dice and got 6 sixes to hit. All six of our jaws dropped. Of course I rolled 1's and 2's to wound. Anyway his Inquisitor opted to shoot again killing a few more warriors. In his assault phase he managed to kill off my other Jetbikes and a Wyche, the rest of whom ran. Silly me left my warriors too close and he managed to stay in combat for the next turn.
My Turn 6
My warriors couldn't dent the Tactical Dreadnought armour of my foe, who killed 4 warriors. My Lances FINALLY destroyed the Battle Tank and my warriors (with the help of a ravager) wiped out the Inquisitor and his Henchmen. My second sniper squad (it only took one to kill the Tank) Managed to take down the Vindicare assassin in a hail of splinter shards and Dark Matter. The Grand Master slew another 4 warriors in the Assault phase, finishing them off at the start of his turn.
His Turn 6
The Grand Master moved up into the bunker where one of my sniper squads was hiding. He managed another 5 warriors in his assault phase, with me actually wounding him! A punisher couldn't do it, an agoniser couldn't do it, but a headbutt from a spikey warrior helmet managed to poke out an eye. Figures.
So in the end I had 2 ravagers, one with only 1 dissie left, about 25 warriors between 3 squads and a raider that I forgot about. I had two uncontested table quarters giving me a Crushing Victory. Sorry, don't remember the exact VPs.
An honourable mention goes out to Mr Grand Master who killed 600 odd points worth on his own, and survived the battle virtually unscathed. A dishonourable mention the that assassin who barely did anything! I love my Ravager gunners now, so very much.
Anyways, thanks for reading guys, hope you found some enjoyment in it. My first battle report
Kabal of the Twilight Blade - Host of Tecpatl - Salamanders 3rd
Not bad, only musing I have are 1) your a dark eldar player, even in friendly games you can't show any mercy or your probably going to lose 2) I'm not a big fan of Incubi, 2 raiders full of wyches is a much nastier punch also if you ditch the incubi you could put the dracon on a bike giving the jet bike squads a nastier edge. (I don't actually play dark eldar, but play against them a good bit this is just what I have seen used effectively)
Rheagar fought nobly
Rheagar fought valiantly
Rheagar fought honorably
And Rheagar died.
After seeing his list and yours I knew that the game would go this way. It also really started to look down hill for the DH when he started playing, as he didnt seem to use any of his units in an effective way. I mean the vindicare assassin is not very good to begin with IMO, but he is in no way made to kill tanks, even if they are AV 10 and open topped. So in the end I had 2 ravagers, one with only 1 dissie left, about 25 warriors between 3 squads and a raider that I forgot about. I had two uncontested table quarters giving me a Crushing Victory. Sorry, don't remember the exact VPs.
Also since you are not sure on what he had I cant say for sure but I dont believe his list is legal. First he has no DH troop choice, since the one squad of grey knights he had deepstriked they would of had to be fast attack, and the guard take up a troop choice but do not count towards the required number to have a legal army list.
I would suggest you tell your friend about the site and then me and the other DH vets can give him some advice on his army lists.
Other then that good report, and grats on the victory.

And I just notced a few spelling mistakes in the report, I wrote it at 4am so cut me some slack
