My first match with Killa Kans! (Only one was built so far, oh well)
We started off by rolling for a Capture and Control game on the Spearhead deployment type. John won the roll off, but elected me to go first. I deployed in the corner near the white pillar, and John deployed in the opposite corner. I put most of my troops right on the edge of the deployment zone, but stuck a squad of shoota boyz on my objective to hold it.
What our deployment looked like.
Orkz Turn 1:
I moved my troops up and took some potshots at the 'nids, hurting the broodlord's retinue. Overall, not much done, but regardless, the green tide approaches!
Tyranids Turn 1:
The 'nids move up and wipe out my "ard Boyz and the Warboss, also seriously damaging the Nobz squad that was led by my Mad Doc Grotsnik(wooo!) Not a great half-turn for the Orkz. The Broodlord manages to wipe out the squad of Burna Boyz as well, and my Looted Wagon is destroyed by the Carnifex.
Orkz Turn 2:
This turn was much more successful for da Boyz. I pulled back my Trukks so they wouldn't get in the way. The Lootas and Shoota Boyz manage to take down the Broodlord, and the Killa Kans fire their Grotzookas at the Gaunts, killing a few, but causing them to fail a leadership test since they were out of synapse range. The Choppa Boyz help Mad Doc and his Nobz clear out the Gaunts in a savage counterattack.
Tyranids Turn 2:
The rest of John's forces move up to take out Mad Doc and the Nob, but surprisingly, they fail! Go Doc! The Carnifex manages to shake one the Kans on the side.
Here you see Mad Doc and a Nob holding out against Raveners, Genestealers, Gaunts, and Tyranid Warriors! Yay!
Orkz Turn 3:
The Kans and Lootas do some damage to the Carnifex, but not enough to kill it. The Trukks move up and take some shots, but don't do too much. The rest of the Boyz assault into the melee in the middle, managing to kill all the remaining Gaunts. Mad Doc survives another round of combat.
Tyranids Turn 3:
The Boyz manage to hold out for another turn, but Mad Doc is finally lost to the 'nids. (tear) The Raveners and genestealers are finished off as well, and the Carnifex manages to destroy one of the Killa Kans.
Orkz Turn 4:
The Boyz are finished off, and the Trukks move forward, while the Kans and Lootas attempt to wound the Carnifex, albeit unsuccessfully.
Tyranids Turn 4 and Ork Turn 5:
Sorry, I missed a turn. Anyway, the 'nids shoot at the Lootas, who fail their leadership test, but successfully regroup the next turn. The Trukks move around and manage to contest the Tyranid's control point, while hitting things with their wreckin' balls.
Tyranid Turn 5 and Ork Turn 6:
Another mistake, oh well. The Ork Lootas manage to regroup and make some more shots, but fail to do anything. The Trukks continue to contest the objective, being hard to hit due to going at cruising speed. The Shoota Boyz holding my control point are hit by the Carnifex and fall back, but manage to regroup and return to the objective.
Tyranid Turn 6:
The Tyranid Warriors manage to wreck one of the Trukks, but one still remained to contest. The Carnifex shoots at the Shoota Boyz, killing all but one. The last one (no doubt possessing balls of steel) manages to hold onto the Control Point, thus winning me the game.
1 to 0
Orkz win! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!!!!!!!!!!!
This was the best game I've ever played, mad props to Mr. Dang for being such a great opponent.
Very nice report, always like to see photos. I have always wondered how orks and tyranids battle would go both being CC freaks. Way to keep up the fight even after losing your Warboss

Great report, this answers my questions about nids vs orks too.
I've found that my boss gets taken down most games, but the damage he does on the way out leaves and impression and since he soaked up so much attention the rest of his boyz get in for the win.

Hey guys, thanks for responding. I've found my Mad Doc Grotsnik to be my most useful unit ever. Whenever he gets into combat, he completely destroys everything he touches. In an earlier game, he single-handedly destroyed a unit of 23 Necron Warriors by making them fail a moral test, they then ran into a unit of stormboyz I had deepstriked behind the warriors the turn before.
For Necron Warriors to hurt the Mad Doc by shooting: 3+ to hit, 5+ to wound. Then he gets 4+ Feel No Pain, and a 4+ Armor Save. He took no wounds from about 30-40 shots once.
Pics of the delicious model!
Here's a question a little off topic, how do you get your pictures to upload like that? I tried but all I could get was a link, but not the pictures themselves.
OK I got it, thanks alot!
Congrats on the win too, seems you came out on top of the CC melee
