This is my first Battle Report, so go easy on me if I make some mistakes
My friends and I have made a small campaign. Today, Hive Fleet Turgon moved onto a planet held by a detachement of my Iron Warriors. This planet's last battle involved me fighting it out with some Ultramarines. I gained the upper hand (just ) and I control the planet.
Fluff: From the last battle, the Ultramarines did not have the time or enough men to get the Terminator armors of their fallen Commrades. The Iron Warriors have now been on the planet little over 5 days, and learned the news today. Hive Fleet Turgon, pulled by the possibilty of more valuable genetic material, dropped a small Tyranid force, ordered to capture the Geneseed and Terminator armors left behind. The Iron Warriors track down one such armor, and find, on the plaine on the other side, a Tyranid force. Battle ensews...
The table had alot of impassible terrain, 3 blocks right in front of the Iron Warriors, 2 near the Tyranid starting pos. The Terminator armor was hidden behind a bit of the impassible terrain (hidden from the IW). Both armies were deployed 20" from the objective (we didnt want a long battle)

The Predator was set up behind the center cover, ready to leap out and take down the HT. To his right were 2 Oblits, Squad 1 and Squad 3. To his left, the last Oblit, Squad 2 and Kogar.
Tyranids: HT hiding behind the closet piece of cover in the center. On the left, 24 Genestealers (facing squad 2 and Kogar) and 16 Hormagaunts. On the right, 16 Hormagaunts and 16 Termagants.
Iron Warriors 1st turn. Squad 1 and 3 head for the objective. The two oblits move slowly forward. The Predator waits behind the rock. Squad 2 advance towards the Genestealers, helped by an Obliterator. Kogar went in search of battle, heading towards the objective.
Tyranids 1st turn. The Hive Tyrant walks straight over its cover, helped by it Guards. The 24 Genestealers make a mad dash forward, ending their turn behind a large rock. The 16 Hormgaunts on the left(Squad A) moved towards the objective, but because of a bad FoC throw, ended up hiding behind the same rock as the Genestealers. The Termagants and Squad B (other 16 Hormies) make a mad dash forward, oblivious of the objective.
Shooting: Tyrant opens fire on Squad 3, causing one death.
Iron Warriors 2nd turn. Squad 3 keeps advancing towards the objective. Squad 1 waits, preparing to give cover fire. The two Oblits with them move around so they can see the Hive Tyrant. The Predator rushes out of its hiding, and can clearly see the Hive Tyrant. Squad 2 advance again, only 30away from 24 Genestealers. Kogar gets even closer to the objective. The Obliterator with Squad 2 advances, but starts to fall behind.
Shooting: The Predator fires its double barreled Lascannon, wounding a Guard. The Obliterators open fire, killing the other Guard. The Lascannon Marine in squad 1 fires on the last Guard, slaying it. Much to my surprise, the Oblit following squad 2 can see the Hive Tyrant. The mighty beast gets wounded (3W).
Tyranids 2nd turn. Seeing that they have fallen into a trap, the Tyranids try and climb out of the whole they dug for themselves. The Genestealers advance again, getting ever closer to Squad 2, now out of cover. Squad A closes in on the objective, but is just off with another bad FoC. The Termagants and Squad B both have horrific FoC throws, moving 8" and 7". This leaves them in the open, and still to far to capture the objective or launch an assault. The Hive Tyrant advances into the open.
Shooting: The Hive Tyrant shoots at the Predator, and disables its main double barreled Lascannon.
Iron Warriors 3rd turn. Squad one moves, noticing that even by moving they will be able to fire on the Termagants. Squad 3 remains still. The Obliterators maneouver to be able to see the Tyrant. Squad 2 stays put. Kogar advances, close to the objective and Squad A.
Shooting: The Hive Tyrant is killed, as 2 Obliterators and the Predator open fire. The last Obliterator fires on First Stealer, killing 2. Squad 2 open fire, killing 4 more. First Stealer break and run. Kogar opens fire on Brood A, killing 8 (Rapid Fire). Squad 1 fires on the Termagants killing 5. Squad 3 fires aswell, taking 3 more Termagants.
Tyranids: All pass their instinctive behavior test. Brood A moves closer to the objective and Kogar. The Termagants get within 6" of the objective. Brood B moves towards Squad 3 (in front of Squad 1). The Genestealers move forward, despite huge casaulties (6 in the first squad).
Assaults: Brood A assaults Kogar, inflicting a W (3W). He strikes back, killing 4 (4left). Brood B assault Squad 3. 3(7left) Marines fall in their charge, but 7 Hormagaunts die in the counter-assault. Brood B stays in combat.
Iron Warriors (4): Little movement. The Obliterators all move in the direction of the Genestealers, and all can see them. The Predator moves aswell towards the Stealers.
Shooting: 9Heavy Bolter shots errupt from the Obliterators. The entire First Stealer gets killed. Squad 2 opens fire, and 3 Genestealer from Second Stealer die (9left).
Assaults: Squad 1 joins in the melee between Squad 3 and Brood B. Brood B kills another Marine(6left), but they get wiped out by the counter-assault from the Marines. Kagor kills off the last of Brood A.
Tyranids: Termagants get the objective, and place themselves so they will escape fire for a turn (the termagants must escape from the field with the objective). Second Stealer is a meer 14 from Squad 2.
Iron Warriors(5): Kogar moves forward, able to see the Termagants. Squads 1 and 3 move forward, but can see nothing.
Shooting: Kogar opens fire and reduces the 8 Termagants to 4. The 3 Obliterators, Squad 2 and the Predator kill all but 4 Stealers (mediocre firing by my standards for that many units).
Tyranids: By sheer luck, the Termagants fail their Instinctive behavior test, and are able to retreat far enough to be as close as 20" to the edge of the table. They are hidden behind some rocks, and Squads 1 and 3 cannot see them. Second Stealer advances.
Assaults: The Stealers attempt to assault, and then realise they badly calculated the distances. They were 2" too far!
Iron Warriors(6): With victory nearing, Kogar gets close enough to the fleeing Termagants to fire. Squad 1 and 3 turn around a rocky outcrop, and head left to help Squad 2 (though it wasnt really needed).
Shooting: Kogar opens up, and kills every last single Termagant, freeing the prize. No need. In that same turn, the 4 last Genestealers were given another salvo of hot lead.
Conclusion. A total victory for the Iron Warriors. I lost 4 Marines, and the Lascannon on my Predator. My enemy however lost his entire force. It was indeed a massacre. Note: I did give him several advantages:
1. He chose where to start
2. He set up the terrain
3. He chose the scenario
4. He chose the points
5. I was under points
Clear, straight foward report, but not much of a battle. Considering you had +3 saves or better and he had practically no ranged weapons, there was very little he could do. Plus, his "tactics" were pretty miserable. That's as bad as my last (and second ever) battle, where I got to play across the corners of a 4X6 foot board (the hypotenuse of a 4X6X7.2 foot triangle) with nothing but obstructing cover against a guard player with 3 leman russ tanks, 3 chimeras, an armoured fist company, and a hellhound.
Why did he have warp blast and a venom cannon on the tyrant? That's retarded. At any rate, he had, what, 3 venom cannon shots against your 8 lascannons, and all those heavy bolter/plasma rounds. Not to mention all the bolters. Those damn bolters. All you really had to do was finish off his stealers, and you could have beaten him in close combat by charging with your tough-as-nails spacemarines. Your demonprince could have occupied his tyrant while you claimed the objective. He had a dumb list and dumb tactics.
Tell him he might want to build the following list, if he’s going to do 1150 pints again (I’m in a list building mood today).
HQ: Hive Tyrant/Extcara/Enhsens/Toxsacs/AdrGlands (WS+I)/Flshks/ST and VC / 163 points

15 Scythgaunts Hive Node 145
16 Spinegaunts Hive Node 90
16 Spinegaunts Hivenode 90
Carnifex w/ ST, VC 153 points (on a board that small, a devourer might also be a good idea)

Also, can you have terminator armor on a demonprince with demonic stature? Because I'm no chaos player, but I don't think so.

It doesnt say I cant...
I just re-read the Terminator armor rules AND the Stature rules, and it doesnt say I cant have both. It might be in CA (which I dont have)...
You make a second mistake, by having 2 mastercrafted weapons
you may only use it on 1 weapon which you have to mention before the battle
"The meat things seek to destroy ourselves. They hunt us as we hunt them but they are weak and uncertain. The inferior flesh will be entirely destroyed, all biomatter consumed. Ourselves will fight to the last, all weak flesh must be devoured."
AHH, but you see, I never look on the CA FAQ, because, with my friends, they never believe me (unless I show them the site, in which case I break up the game) and if they use it aswell (they have in past), I fînd out the next day that they cheated like pigs.
How did your Daemon Prince kill 8 gaunts in turn three with only a MC bolter?
Yeah, that's one rapid-firing bolter! I'm dying to know. Did he have a psychic attack or something?
Purge all the heretics,
Kill the alien scum,
Suffer not the unclean to live,
And have a beer when you're done.
I suspect cheating. I hope you don't think that Tyranids are crap after that battle.
R U 0K!??!? BUHHHHST WUUUULFFFFF!!!
It was a pathetic battle to say the least. I've used both GKs and SoBs against Nid's and they aren't that easy to beat. They tend to get into combat really quickly and decimate from there on in. Either you cheated/the person you played against really didn't know the rules/or their idea of tactics can be compared to the French. (no offense to any French people, but traditionally the French warcry is "We Surrender!!!!" said quite loudly and with great conviction albeit.)
I adopted a cute lil' poison fetus
from Fetusmart! Hooray fetus! </a>
