This is gonna be kinda sketchy cause i don't know the nid or tau codex rules. Also using 4th eddition rules and 4th eddition marine codex
Inquisitor Lord- force weapon psycannon
3 henchmen 2x familars 1x guy with a plasma gun
2 squads unknown quantity 1 had incinerator 1 had psycannon
1x 4man termie squad with psycannon
1x 2 wound chaplin with power fist, bionics
devastator squad 2x lascannons 1x plasma cannon 1x heavy bolter 1x bolter

1x HQ robot with 4 wounds ion cannon, missile pods and shield thing 2 SHIELD DRONES
1x crisis suit with 2 shield drones missile pod plasma rifle and shield thing 2 SHIELD DRONES
1x Broadside with railgun and seeker missiles
1x crisis suit with flamer rockets and shield thing 2 SHIELD DRONES
2x 6man fire warrior squads sergeants armed with carbines
1x piranah with melta gun
Tyrinids (don't know exact numbers and almost no upgrades)
1x broodlord with synapse and other weird stuff
Some rippers (don't really mention them)
I set up my devastator squad in a tall building on the top floor my ally puts some daemonhunters on the ground floor furthest away from the enemy. To the right of the building is a street where i put my chaplain which is attached to the squad without a flamer and without the vet sarge My ally puts his squad with the incinerator next to mine. To the right of that is a two story building which the first floor is wrecked. On the first floor is my ally's Inquisitor Lord and henchmen on the second floor My other tactical squad.
The nid player puts his units as close to ours as possible. The tau puts his broadside on the top floor of a 4 story building with a squad of fire warriors below him. His 2 crisis suit on a side building where they will get perfect shots off. his other squad of fire warriors is across from his suits. His piranah is near the 2nd squad of fire warriors which is going to escort the genestealers.
(I thought we would lose the first turn)
Turn 1 goes to Tau/nids. First termigaunts lead by warriors move up the middle. Then Hormigaunts and rippers lead by the broodlord move up my left. Then somehow the genestealers move up the right like a million freaken inches and are already in assault range of the inquisitor Lord with the piranah about 8 inches behind them behind a building.
Shooting: Tau don't do anything but a warrior kills two gray knights in the street.
Assault: genestealers assault the Inquisitor Lord killing his henchmen and bringing him down to one wound. He then chooses to fail his LD test with the iron will ability and succefully leaves combat.
Imperium turn 1: Movement the gray knights in the street move within incinerator range of the genestealers. His other squad of knights moves closer to the window of the building they are in. The Inquisitor Lord moves up
Shooting: The incinerator squad of gray knights shoots at the genestealer and kills an insane amount. The storm bolters finish off all but one that one fails LD and retreats. The Ultramarine squad in the building kills one warrior. The devastator squad kills the other two warriors.
Tau/nid turn 2:
movement: Hormagaunts just reach the building with my devastators and a squad of knight but still aren't within assault range. Termagaunts move just out of assault range of my marines in the street. The tau HQ moves up. The genestealer continues to fall back. and the piranah moves forward into range of the grey knight and my tactical squad in the building.
Shooting: The Tau kill my marine squad in the street except for a sarge, the chaplin, and a flamer. The railgun missed both shots. The piranah shoots at the grey knights but fails to do anything
Imperial turn 2
Movement: what's left of my squad in the street moves forward about 4''
the grey knight squad in the building moves up to the hormagaunts. The other grey knight squad move toward the termagaunts. The Inquisitor Lord moves up
Shooting: our main focus was to kill the broodlord so the Termagaunts/hormagaunts would have to fall back/take a LD i don't know why but it was part of a rule. The 2 squads in the street used their flamer and incinerator to destroy almost all the termagaunts. The grey knight squad in the building takes out almost HALF of the hormagaunts. And the devastators bring the broodlord to one wound. I shoot a rocket and a meltgun at the piranah and they do nothing but the plasma pistol somehow managed to succede where they had failed blowing the piranah up.
Assault: I decide to use my chaplins powerfist. Somehow the two other space marines decide to die and not kill anything, but then my chaplin killed the two termigaunts and advanced.
Tau/Nid turn 3
Movement: Hormagaunts advance into the building with the grey knights. BroodLord is almost there as well.
Shooting: (this had to be the worst shooting phase of all time) As the whole tau army decides to shoot at my advancing Chaplin but fails to even wound him. (Note That is around 20 shots about. 5 of which ignored his 3+ armour)
assault: Hormagaunts only kill 1 gray knight somehow but knights kill 6 hormagaunts,
Imperial turn 3
Movement gray knight terminators teleport right in front of the tau commander and the chaplin right behind them moves up.
Shoot: Devestator squad kills all 4 shield drones for the crisis suit and also kills a suit. Terminators kill shield drones for tau commander
Assault: This once again unbelievable the grey knights win again killing 4 losing none.
Then being a little sissy the tau player gives up because he sees he can no longer avoid the terminators and the chaplain. The tyrinid player had no chance because his whole army was pretty much gone except 2 hormagaunts
Nice report. You've gotta love those Incinerators, eh?
Nice report. You've gotta love those Incinerators, eh?
your tellin me
Go Daemonhunters (and marines)!
Were you playing 500pts each or 1000pts combined? Seems like the DH army may be a little over 500.
It was 500 points each because that's all the two enemy players had each. I also when I saw his army thought it was a little big too. BUt his dad made the list whos been playin for a long time so I really wasn't in a position to question him. (Even is he was over I wouldn't have been complaining )
