FIELD SET UP/SCENERIO
Hive fleet Locust has landed on a strange grass land planet, once landed they prepare to devour the place. But little did they know, an ancient necron lord was preparing his army to emerge once more. The lord gathers what he can to counter this small fleet of tyranids and to rid him off his planet in which he needs to arise more warriors.
one objective on the far left on an island, another all the way on the right. both are necron generators. in the middle of the field is a necron temple and on the right is some type of huge heads. so picture the field as if it was 3 lanes on the map, the left middle and right corridors.
i. the necrons deploy first. i put my destroyers and destroyer lord to the far right, 10 warriors with the lord with the veil in the middle and on the far left warriors ready to go for the objective and in between them my monolith
the tyranids on the far right have there genestealers, along with 15 gaunts and 6 warriors. on the left he has his 2 carnifexes 6 warriors and 15 gaunts.
TYRANIDS FIRST: they pretty much move forward. it looks like hes reserving the carnifex with the strangler and warriors as back. he also intends to attack my monolith later with his melee fex.
NECRONS: move my monolith up alittle and then He is in range to shoot at with my destroyers and warriors (this is a very small board)
i kill 8 gaunts in total out of 30
TYRANIDS: he advances up and thats all, hes keeping everything tight. hes got his eye fixed with both his carnefexs now goin for my monolith, hes also waiting for me to use my veil.
Necrons: i kill another 11 gaunts.. he doesnt have many troops so im aiming to take away his capability to capture objectives. i also move my monolith closer to the temple in the middle to hide it from the fexs. he also passed all moral checks.
tyranids: he moves up and captures an objective. his fex charges my monolith and immobilized it. he started bringing his warriors up to fight too
NECRONS: i veil of darkness behind his genestealers killing 5 of them. i shoot again at the gaunts with warriors and destroyers and destroy the rest of his gaunts. my necron destroyer lord then shoots at the genestealers killing 2. he only has 4 genestealers left now. i also shoot with my monolith at the carnafex but do nothing.
tyranids: He destroys my monolith with the melee carnefex, he shoots all his 12 warriors at my warriors that used the veil and took down 7 of them. he captures an objective with the stealers.
necrons: my killing blow, i kill all his genestealers , removing all capability to take objectives. he surrenders to me, do to no chance of geting objectives.
WINNER: necrons, for killing all tyranid troops
TYRANIDS lost 260 points roughly
Necrons lost 320 roughly
Necrons: keep the fex away from the monolith! it died too fast for my liking and use the veil of darkness earlier
TYRANIDS: Screw warriors, take more troops, next im bringing in 30
hormagaunts instead. i regret holding back, tyranids arnt made for that, they need to eat pronto. i will never underestimate destroyers again they really screwed me up even tho there were only 3. i think i should have countered them with the warriors, i dont know, i played horrible. but got lucky with the monolith coming down quick. i think reserving my stealers for him to use the veil would have been smarter? oh well next game we'll see what happens when i field hormagaunts instead.
He should have gotten Without Numbers for his gaunts so that he could bring them back. Even though he had no troops left, he still could've won if he could phase you out by dropping your Necron units (not including the Monolith) to less than 25%.
i got lucky too, i was rolling very well
