Hey, invited my friend over and decided to try out how effective termagant spawning is against a 'gun line' army. We used the conflict doubles rules (may decide to take this nid army) and made up two army lists. Here are the lists;
tervigon - Hq 190pts
tervigon - Hq 175pts
2 hive guard 100pts
8 genestealers 112pts
10 Termagants 50pts
tervigon - troops 160pts
'the avenger' psychic power
'the gate of infinity' psychic power
Scout squad 75pts
Scout squad 75pts
Land speeder 60pts
2 heavy bolters
4 missile launchers 182pts
4 missile launchers 182pts
10 sternguard 315pts

we set up terrain as follows (objectives shown as described later):
We rolled for mission and got Seize ground on dawn of war (the space marine player let out a large groan, didn't suit his army at all). He rolled a 5 meaning 5 objectives would be on the table and let out an even louder groan XD
I then proceededto win the roll off for deployment (my second cheer of the day and the game hadn't even stated yet) so deployment looked like this:
He deployed his scout squad (1) behind the 4th objective building with infiltrate and used scout to move them inside (scout move shown later). =[ I thought my tervigon placement would stop him capturing objective 4, oh well (wont last long).

He rolled a 5 and just missed out on stealing the inishative so i went first.
Tervigon 1 rolls 6, 3 or night fighting and 1 so spawns 10 gaunts (T2)
Tervigon 3 rolls 4, 3 and 2 so spawns 9 gaunts (T3)
HIve guard and tervigon 2 move onto the board and everything except Termagant brood 1 moves forward.
Hive guard run 2 inches and tervigon 2 runs 4 inches
Tervigon 1 tries to use catalyst but fails on a roll of 5 and 6
Tervigon 3 uses dominion and passes LD test
Tervigon 1 rolls 3 and 2 to see 15 inches, fires at scout squad 1, scatters onto two, wounds 1 but scout passes save.
Tervigon 3 rolls 5 and 6 so can see Scouts 1, fires hits and wounds with 3, killing 1
decided to shoot with termagant broods 2 and 3 (big mistake) as i roll a double 1 with brood 2, a 2 and a 1 for brood 3, so both cannot see the scouts
end of tyranid turn looked like this:

To start off the space marine turn the drop pod scattered up and right by 3 inches and deployed the sternguard in two combat squads.
everything else moved on the board.
Sternguard move towards termagant brood 1.
Sternguard combat squad 1 rolls 6 and 2 so can easly see the gaunts, killing 8 with two flamers and the last two with dragonfire bolts killing the whole brood.
Sternguard combat squad 2 tragets the tervigon 2, rolls 2 and 4, hits with 3 metla gun shots and takes off 3 wounds, the helfire shots wound but tervigon 2 passes saves.
drop pod rolls 3 and 5 and hits with 1 storm bolter shot at tervigon 2 but fails to wound.
Scout squad 1 can see tervigon 1 as he rolls a 5 and a 4 and tervigon 1 takes a wound.
Land speeder fires at tervigon 1, rolls a double 4, casuse a wound but the tervigon rolls a 4 ans passes save.
Librarian fires at termagant brood 2 but gets a 1 and a 2 so can't see.
Scout squad 2 fires at tervigon 1 but he rolls a 1 and a 4 so also cannot see their target.

rolling for reserves; roll a 4 for the genestelaers that then roll a 2 so come on from the left (*sigh*) and a 3 for trygon so doesnt come on (yet).
Tervigon 1 rolls 5, 6 and 1 so spawns 12 gaunts (T5)
Tervigon 2 rolls 4, 1 and 6 so spawns 11 gaunts (T4)
Tervigon 3 rolls a double 3 and a 4 (so no more spawning for tervigon 3 but still spawns 10 gaunts (T6)
everything moves up
Tervigon 2 uses catalyst on termagant brood 4 and passes, fires on Sternguard combat squad 2 hits and kills two and they pass moral check.
Termagant brood 4 fires on sternguard comabt squad 1, 5 hits and 2 wounds but sternguard pass both.
Hive guard fire at the drop pod casusing two penatrating hits - weapon destroyed and stunned.
Tervigon 3 uses dominion and passes Leadership check.
Tervigon 1 uses catalyst and passes Leadership check but psychic hood nulls it.
Tervigon 1 shoots at Devistator squad 1, hitting but pass their 4 saves.
Tervigon 2 shoots at Sternguard combat squad 1 scatters 2 inches wounds 1 but passes save
Termagant broods 3 and 6 fire at Sout squad 1 killing 3 and fail moral check and runn 10 inches off the board.
Termagant broods 5 and 2 fire at Devistator squad 1 killing 3 but pass moral check.
genestealers fleet 3 inches.
Tervigon 2 assualts sternguard combat squad 2 and kills two, one wounds back but tervigon passes save. They fail moral check and break off and run 4 inches.
Termagant brood 4 assualts the other sternguard squad, kills 1 Sternguard, the sternguard wound 4 times but pass feal no pain saves(yay for fell no pain). They pass moral check.
end of tyranid turn 2:
Space marine turn two
the lone sternguard rallies and moves into the cover of objective 1
Librarian moves out of cover
Land speeder moves 6 inches
Librarian uses 'The avenger' psychic power(passes on 3D6 from shadow in the warp) and kills 8 gaunts from Termagant brood 5
the single Sternguard left in combat squad 2 shots hellfire rounds at tervigon 2 but passes both saves
Scout squad 2 Shoots at Tervigon 1 but passes save
Devistator squad 1 fires at Tervigon 1 casusing 2 wounds
Devistator squad 2 fires at tervigon 1 casusing another 2 wounds
Land Speeder shoots at Tervigon 1 but passes save
Librarian assualts Termagant brood 5, kills 1 with no wounds back, brood is fearless so loses another wound
other combat: 2 termagants get killed and 1 sternguard dies, guant pasees fearless save again thanks to feel no pain.

tervigon 2 rolls 2, 2 and 6 and so spawns 10 termagants (brood 7)
tervigon 1 rolls 1, 1, 5 and so 7 termagants are spawned (brood 8 )
all tervigons finish spawning
everyting moves forward or towards colsest enemy
tervigon 1 hides behind the trygon for cover
genestealers fleet 4 inches
termagant brood 6 fleets 5 inches
tervigon 3 runs 3 inches
hive guard fire at drop pod cause stunned
Teagant brood 3 shoots at Devistator squad 1 but save both wounds
Teagant brood 2 shoots at Devistator squad 1 kills 1 and they fail moral check and run off the board
trygon shoots at Landspeeder, which causes crew stunned
tervigon 1 shoots at the scouts, hits and kills 3, they pass their leadership test.
tervigon 2 uses catalyst on Termagant brood 4, passes Psychic test
tervigon 1 casts catalyst on self
Tervigon 2 charges the lone sternguard
termagant brood 7 charges the other sterguard combat squad
termagant brood 8 charges the librarian (with the benifits of the tervigons adrenal glands)
tervigon 2 kills the remainder of the sternguard combat squad with no wounds back
Termagant broods 4 and 7 kill 2 sternguard with no wounds back, they pass pass Leadership and hold
T8 kills librarian thanks to adrenal glands
end of tyranids turn 3:
Space marine turn 3
Scout squad 2 shoots at tervigon 1, both miss
Devistator squad 2 shoot at tervigon 1, wounds and kills it (oh noes!!)
this in turn kills the two ramaining in termagant brood 5 and 5 out of termagant brood 8
sternguard veteran sergeant kills 1 termagant, they give 6 wounds back and the sergeant fails 1 and dies

By now the space marine player could tell it was all over and was just a case of how long he could last.
With the front tervigon dead, things were going to start to act instinctively.All three termagant broods (2, 8 and 3) failed their moral check but luckily they did what i wanted anyway (lurk) as they all stood where they were
Trygon moves towards devistators
Tervigon 2 moves towards the drop pod
the rest of the army moves up
Hive guard fire at Land speeder, it explodes 4 inches, this fails to wound the trygon but wounds and kills a Devistator (so much for power armour)
tervigon 3 uses dominion and passes test
tervigon 2 uses catalyst on tervigon 3 and also passes test
termagant broods 2 and 8 shoot at scouts in range, causing 3 wounds and he fails all saves
termagant broods 6, 4 and 7 fleet towards closest objective
trygon shoots at devastator squad but they pass the two saves
tervigon 2 assualts the drop pod, casuses 2 glanching hits of 3 and 2 that wrecks the drop pod (immobile and no weapon to destroy)
trygon charges the remaining squad of devastators and casusing 6 wounds killing the entire squad and ending the game
Aftermath of the game:
Result = epic victory for the nids with 4 objectives to 0 and annihilation
Summary = Space marines got well and truly wiped, but given another scenario they might have faired better (only a rematch can tell)
Nice battle report mate and seemed like a fun battle, congrats on the win.
