    Game 1 - Orks v. Tau, 1500 points

The Tau army had two hammerheads, a lone crisis suit, a lone hammerhead, three full troops of firewarriors, a shas'o, an ethereal, and a gun drone troop.

The Ork army had 6 killa kanz, a warboss with mega armor and mega armored nobz, a looted basilisk, 2 troops of slugga boyz with 3 burnaz apiece and 2 troop of shoota boyz with 3 big shootaz apiece.

We rolled a Hold the Objective mission and placed it in the middle. I put three troops of firewarriors around the objective (a hill) and put a hammerhead behind it, he put his full army solidly on the field, the boyz led by the warboss, flanked by the kanz and with the basilisk at the back.

First turn resulted in a handful of dead infantry models, mostly on his side.

Second he shot up some firewarriors, but I deepstriked in my Shas'o and my gun drones, did some damage to the kanz and moved some firewarriors into a better position.

Third turn a group of orkz moved into some high grass, dangerously close to the firewarriors on the objective, and the rest of them moved forward. The hammerhead and broadside moved in and took out some more kanz, making them explode and hurting the orkz around them. The firewarriors shot some more, but they were looking a little hurt. The gun drones imobilised the final kan in one of the squads, which unfortunately took out the Shas'o in CC. The stealth suits were wiped out by boyz.

Fourth turn the orkz hit the firewarriors on the objective with burnaz and destroyed around seven. They didn't make the assault, though, and stayed in the grass. The other crisis suit deepstriked in right next to the basilisk's rear armor and it quickly fell.

Fifth turn the orkz assaulted the firewarriors and wiped them out, no contest necessary. The Tau moved a hammerhead onto the objective, though, and the Ork forfeited because he didn't think he could take out the hammerhead quickly enough and because he wanted to play frisbee.

The other game wasn't even a contest. Breakout mission, with massive numbers of assault marines. One marine did fall to firewarriors in CC, though. My pride was immense.

Overall the Kais Kauyon Tash'var made a good showing of the day, taking out considerable vps and coming out 1 and 1 their first 2 games ever.

Despite their incredible technological prowess, the Tau, unlike the Kroot, have yet to master the idea of "the bayonet"...

I dont know if any of you guys play, or used to play starcraft, but i imagine that with all this technology, the tau would have those protoss PSI blades or whatever they are called, those things zealots have...

for all you guys who DONT know ***** im talking about, they are basically like lightsabers that come out of the top of the armor pads on the forearms, but were shaped like the writing-end of a sharp pencil.

Picture Wolverine, except instead of blades/claws, a lightsaber comes out or something.

and while we're talking about starcraft, the Tau remind me a bit of Protoss from it, the clean, stylized aliens in suits of armor. That believe in fighting for a good cause(expanding goes in that good cause thing i guess )

    actually, no.
the protoss, although a highly developed race, are strong, fast and agile, skilled with all sorts of weaponry. dont forget that the zealots can easly dispatch two or three zerglings in CC, and can soak up alot of damage.

unlike them, the tau are small, weak, and clumsy (4 fingers...) race of highly developed birds-people. the tau have their own advantges (mosly big and shiny guns), but they need god damn crisis suits to match a marine in strength and quickness, and even then they dont usually win.

so, if they do have some kind of PSI blades, its only to keep their nano-tech rifles from harm, not for CC aid.

so basically, tau suck at CC, and most likly use rockes and the like, not PSI blades...
