The is my friend's second 40k game ever and for it instead of playing tau he obviously decided to go chaos space marines! we proxy almost everything because we're all tight arses (ironically less so in this match).
we rolled annihilation with a spear head set up, my force included a doomseer with runes, dark reapers, two squads of guardians both with eldar missile launchers, "Kenpachi" the Wraithlord with brightlance/wraithsword and a nightspinner.
his army had one 8 man CSM squad in a rhino, a 6 man bezerker squad in rhino (chaos lord with demon weapon tagging along), 2 obliterators and finally 7 raptors.
my friend decided to go first and deepstriked the raptors/obliterators whilst everything else sat in rhinos trying to barrel forward past my compact gunline. My turn saw witness to the true awesomeness of crackshot immobilizing his berserker rhino (ignoring the cover save) whilst the cannon fodder managed to shake the other rhino.
in turn 2 the raptors came down and totaled a guardian squad, with the farseer's aid the squad holds firm, knowing that my farseer and squad is walking dead they go for the glorious combat to keep my line from failing completely. The beserkers decide to leg it and are promptly shot to death by the dark reapers, his lord manages to survive with two wounds remaining.
the obliterators arrived causing much grief to my battle plans by torching my other guardian unit to death (2 twin linked flamers = pain), the lord jumps in close and all i'm standing with is kenpachi and after a nasty round of rapid fire from the recently disembarked chaos space marines 3 dark reapers.
Turn 5 saw much action, with another fail rapid fire round from his chaos marines my 2 remaining dark reapers destroy his obliterator and the lord died to a sniper shot from kenpachi, unfortunately the obliterator did manage to take out my nightspinner and with turn 5 over we rolled a 1 so game over and by victory points it was a draw with chaos 25 more points ahead.
Man of the Match: Dark Reaper Exarch! definitely will be written into my higher point lists. thinking of fortune/guide seer for 1000pts.
thanks for reading my hastily written battle report, this one is mainly a test and hopefully i'll be making nicer ones in the future

Tau: 6K - W17-D3-L4, Orks: 4K - W9-D0-L2, SM: 7K - W7-D3-L4,CSM: 4K W5-D1-L1, Nids: 3.2K W3-D0-L2
Apoc games (mixture of armies used): W5-D0-L1
they didn't, the raptors came in turn 2 and the obliterators arrived turn 3
