I have to say the Tau made a lot of errors, no drones? Those darn things have been the undoing of many players at my local club. But Qudos to you to beat Tau, it's good to see the lil blue fishmen get whooped.

Yes. Lack of AP1/2 guns to take down broadsides = solid Tau victory.
Draw.
No. Fear the dreads and abhor Cleansing Flame.

Thanks!
Yeah he did. He tried to use that piece of ruins to his advantage for his broadsides, but it backfired on him as I used it (and other terrain) to prevent some of his broadsides from firing at me.
I must admit that I had some luck on my side. I probably made something like 75% of my cover saves, well above norm. However, I also capitalized on his mistakes and my use of Crowe took him by surprise. Crowe is very good if used properly. He's consistently been effective whenever I've used him.
Yeah, he did, but to be fair, he was experimenting with a new list. I think this was only the 2nd time he's used this list. I think the list can be fine-tuned. First of all, I think he needs some pathfinders in there. I also like Advanced Stabilisation Systems on his broadsides, though that gets expensive on 9 (IMO he should drop 3 for a railhead). Lastly, like you said, he could've used some drones on his broadsides and maybe even suits (the command squad, at least).

Yes i agree, no shield drones against that much S8 shoots was a terrible mistake.
Taking target lock instead of ASS or TA was a different approach, A bad one i think as the improved BS or even better the ability to move and shoot is so much better. 3 broadsides firing at 2 targets (TL on leader) that can move are better that 3 broadsides firing at 3 targets that cant move, in my view. Especially since it turned out to be DOW lol.
Wow thats a lot of cover saves you made in that game.
I am a bit confused by all the dangerous terrian tests he had to make as it didn't really look like DT to me but i guess thats your call (the levels in the buildingd looked more than safe enough for them to land on![]()
Anyway well played

He's fine-tuned his list somewhat. Last time I played against him, he'd dumped the piranhas, got 1 pathfinder unit, and got 2 shield drones for each broadside unit.
All ruins are difficult terrain, so they're dangerous to jump infantry. We played the inside of the terrain, if it is under one of the levels, to be difficult terrain as well.

All those cover saves, I just kept wondering what the outcome would be If Tau had some marker lights.

Yeah, he's changed his list since this game to include 1 unit of pathfinders. Now, I think his list is even scarier. Oh the irony...Tau, scary?

Really terrific report and your pics are crystal clear, very nice. I also really liked the way you took pictures at every stage of the turn. Is that really annoying for your opponent? It seems like it would eat up a big chunk of time to do it. I haven't played tau very much but it seems to me an army that is so poor in assault cant really be that good. Maybe i need more games against them. anyway good victory, nice paint jobs.

No, not really. Usually, my pictures are really fast and inconspicuous...no more than 3-5 secs per photo. After a few shots, it doesn't even feel like I'm taking pictures.
Tau can be very good if you know how to run them properly. They are actually one of the very few armies that give my grey knights the most problems. Every fight I've had with Tau has been a challenge because they're especially effective against the more elite armies.
