Ok first off the board was a 3 by 3 square with an increasing slope from one side to the other. Also one corner was the highest and the opposite corner was the lowest. It was grass with grey areas of rocks that were difficult terrain.
The game was a flash 500 pts
The armies were as follows:
10 man Tactical squad with sargeant and rocket launcher.
10 man assault squad with sargeant and plasma pistol.
Librarian indipendant character with some psychic power I cant remember. It let him draw a line across the board and hit D3 wounds on all connected units.
3, 1 man crisis teams. All with burst cannon and missil pod.
2, 12 man firewarrior teams no carbines, bonded, shas'ui
BTW I LOVE BONDED!!! It is sooo great it saved me in this game.
Now to begin. I deployed on the lower side of the table. The space marines setting up on the high ground... I was pissed.
I spread my troops out and he put his tac squad in the opposite corner to sit there and shoot. His assault squad squared off with me with the librarian off to the side of the assault squad.
I cant remmeber who went first but he advanced and I poured shots into his assault squad making them break but they regrouped. He killed a FCW with a frag missil from that blasted rocket launcher. He also wounded one of my crisis suits with his librarian.
I lost a crisis suite to a krak round... yea overkill but the marine guy was happy... I then lost my wounded suite to the librarian. I did manage to kill all but one assault marine.
His assault marine made it to my last crisis suite and entered cc... however I did not die and neither did he. I then began moving my firewarriors towards a hill to begin shooting at his tac squad. His librarian moved to the tac squad and missed with his psychic power.
NOOOOO my last crisis suite fell but I had moved my warriors out of charge range and blasted with a brutal weight of shots into that last assault marine. Needless to say he was oblitterated with utmost satisfaction.
Turn 5... and 6:
We moved around, his librarian linking with the tac marines and the tac marines realizeing that their standing still had coste them. I made it to the hill and set up to fire away.
BTW in the exchanging of fire I lost a few more firewarriors dropping one to 75% strength and the other to 50% strength.
I unloaded into the tactical squad with great bias blasting away 2 marines. My second squad of firewarriors moved in. The space marines moved forward slowly not doing well with the terrain.
I emptied more shots into his marines killing 4 or 5 more. The last 3 or 4 kept trying to get to me and the librarian hid behind them.
He um made my larger firewarrior squad break but with bonding they regrouped. Then both my squads moved up and were in rapid fire range.... mwahahahaha. Yea he took lets see um... 14 shots to his last 3 marines. They died needless to say.
Then my second squad shot the same number into his librarian and litterally vaporized him.
So it was a victory with my brave firewarriors battered but dominant. In this fight the crisis suites just were not as effective as my firewarriors. The FCWs just managed to hold out much longer and keep them shots comin.
So in the end his army was wipped out and I lost my elites and half of my troops numbers. Nevertheless a victory to me... I know it was 9 turns and the norm is what 6? But we kept going. No reason not to, we wanted to pound each other.
It really came down to that tac squad. They got off 1... ONE.... UNO bolter shot in the whole game. I litterally took no hits that didnt come from that missil launcher and once he started to move even that was uneffective. That tactical squad failing to close with me and bring those bolters and cc power to bear really cost the SM player.
A narrow victory but a victory and the Tau secure a section of the front.
Im not totally sure about this, but doesnt Bonded just let you re-group under half strength? It wouldn't let you move again in the same turn that you re-group. only Space Marines can do that....
Robizzle is correct,
Plus 14 pulse shots would have to be lucky to kill 2 Space Marines, let alone 3. Saying needless to say they died wasn't too bright.
14 shots, 7 hit 4.66 wound, is 1.5 dead marines.
Every time you read this sig: a fairie dies!
Ya bonded lets you regroup under half strength. I have not heard of a rule that prevents you from moving after you regroup. You regroup at the begining of the movement phase, if you fail you fall back. Otherwise you dont move. Therefore you can move again. I read the book cover to cover. I could be wrong, either way it doesnt matter. He didnt call it so it sticks. Mistakes can be made move on. Pointing this out now is just useless.
Also 12 pulse shots kills on average 2 marines not LUCKY. 14 has a plausable chance of killing 3 or more. Check your math and dont correct me with incorrect facts.
I can say Needless if I bloody damn well want to. What does it matter to you.
If thats all you guys have to add thats pathetic. Why is this site on the top of the list. Give me a break. Disgracefull. No tactical analysis, no suggestions for improvement. Just insulting my choice of words. Get a life.
Congratulations Vash, you've succeeded in making yourself look like a dolt.
Let me show you how Wings of Doom is right, and how you're stupid:
Fire Warriors have 1/2 chance to hit. Vs marines, Pulse Rifles have 2/3 chance to wound. You have a 1/3 chance of getting past their armor. So lets see 1/2*2/3*1/3=1/9. This means that 1 out of every 9 pulse rifle shots will kill a marine. This means that 27 shots, not half that, will 'needless to say' kill 3 marines. Of course I don't expect you'll understand any of this because you're a stubborn infant who's probably failed remedial math several times.
Also give your Crisis Suits plasma rifles, not burst cannons.
Now admit you're a moron and apologize for your little temper tantrum.
I laugh at your pathetic taunts. Come kiss my ass you *****ing *****. Actually your right technically 1 space marine should die a round of shooting. However my average was drawn from actual practice. I scorn pathetic numbers. Their pointless and do nothing. Sit there with your nerdy calculator in your moms basement all you want. Means nothing to me. I can say anything I want and if I want to say needless I can. Cause needless to say I won.
You got a problem go cry to your mommy. You want to flame me go ahead. Im not coming back to this crappy forum anyway. Snarl back at me all you wish. Makes no difference.
Oh and concerning the plasma rifles their crap compared to burst cannon. I can leap forward, dump 3 shots a piece into the enemy and drop back while never getting into cc range of even an assault squad. Cant do that with plasma rifle unless you want 1 shot a turn and even then your likely to miss, a 1/3 ratio to hit. Unless you twin link but then you waste a second hard point. If you want to, go ahead but there is no reason for me to use plasma rifles. I scorn your whimply attempt to correct me you cocksucking *****tard. Hahahahahahahaha.
Oh boy how old are you 10??? Immature *****s. Now what you should have done was show some class and give me an organized rebutal in a sophisticated manner. Instead what I see is a juvinial and simply idiotic rant with the intent to make you feel powerfull. The best you can do is flame... thats just simply, pathetic. Nothing more.
Now I could continue to stab at your puny mind but I have better things to do. I know that idea must be hard to grasp but just try.
*****ing morons. Hahahahahahahaha.
Nice first impression to Librarium Online.
When someone is trying to critque you don't attack them. Your practice rolls may be better than average but when using basic math, it comes out that you will only kill a Marine and half.
Librarium Online is about sharing ideas in a civilized manner. It's not attacking people and flaming people because they say what they think.
A parting thought, a little respect goes a long way.
