Today I played against my brothers SMurfs again. This time I finished up modelling a 1250 Mech Tau army. Didn't really write down what my brother was playing with but my army looked something like this.
Shas'O with 2 drones
2 sunforge CS
1 deathrain CS and one helios CS
5 Stealth units
10 FW in devilfish
10 FW in devilfish
1 Hammerhead with ioncannon
I decided to keep my drones out of the field to deepstrike them later. So I faced 2 transport vehicles, a bike squad and a dreadnought. The first turn, nothing much happened. I moved most of my troops into cover and the SMurfs fastmoved their bikes into CC range for turn 2. I did manage to criple the Dread and loose it's CC weap.
The second turn, none of us managed to get a deepstrike (he had some real heavy stuff lined up for that). My stealths stunned both his razor and his other transport. One of my CS took out his main weap on one of those vehicles as well. Lucky me. And my luck wasn't up, my Shas'O managed to hit his Dread and leaving it moveless at the spot. His bikes moved into CC with my 2 sunforge CS wounding one.
Turn three he managed to deepstrike his assaut squad, landing it only a few inches from my HH. He shot it and I lost my ion blaster. With his transports out of order he deployed his team of 2 x 6 marines in cover of the 2 wrecks. He had no luck on hitting my CS's with his bikes, or should I say, that I had even more luck on saving throws. I deep stroke my drones just between the Assault squad and my HH. I concentrated my firepower on the Asaault squad killing 5 out of 7. I have to admit that over 30 dice must strike hard
I moved my other two CS toward the already fighting bike squad and managed to kill the first one.
Turn four he finally was able to deep strike his 6 Termies. And with success I have to say. He managed to kill both my drones who were backing up my Shas'O. But I thought it was a wrong decition of him to encounter those units, because they weren't the ones killing all his units. My stealths managed to kill 2 of 'm in return. I deployed my FW behind the Dread and the other Devilfish in the LOS of the troops he deployed. My CS were all busy hitting the bikes, without succes on both sides. The last 2 Assault units were killed by the remaining fire I had left on that side of the field.
Turn five. He was becoming really mad now, he had his hands in his hair and was making all kind of weird decitions. He backed off his marines to claim quarters. His Termies fired at a squad of FW and his bikes had just little succes in CC. In return I killed 2 more Termies, 4 marines, his Dreadnougt and crashed the vehicle in the hope it would explode and take one or two more marines in the blast. Three out of four bikes were destroyed and one of my CS had to leave play also.
Turn six. Was me smiling and him fleeing... I had never seen Marines flee before. He gave up and I for the cause of the greater good to leave it by that and claim most of the field.
I probably left out one or two shots which were great from the SMurfs side, for instance crippling one of my DF. But at the end the result was the same. We won and with only about 250 points lost on the Tau side. It was a nice fight (at least I thought so) :p
Hope you enjoyed reading it and and tips for SMurfs how to beat Tau would probably make my brother happy.

If it was mech tau then why is the last fire warrior squad not in a devilfish?
