so a few days ago, one of my friends came over sporting his new eldar army which me and some of my friends game him for his birthday
so we played a "850" point battle it was over in like 30-45 min
he didnt have the minimum requirement but we played cuz that's all he had
16 gaurdians(the really weak ones)
1 reg. far seer
2 wraith lords ( one was a viper cuz he had only one wraithlord)
i'm not sure about how much that ends up as but he agreed to the battle
1 heavy destroyer(my second pride and joy)
1 monolith ( my first pride and joy)
i think that's about 850 not really sure and the lord had no upgrades
we played a small battle field of about 36In meaning my heavy D shot anything it wanted
he set up with the gaurdians in the middle headed by his far seer and the wraith lord on the sides
i had my monolith on my left, warriors in the front Necron lord behind them( i dunno why)
and my heavy Destroyer shielded by me monolith
so first he moved his people a little forward and started shooting at me with this gaurdians which in the end took out like 2 of my warroirs his wraith lords went for my monolith and both didnt even scratch it.
i used my heavy d and shot at his wraithlord that was closest to my monolith, i had my warroirs take out his gaurdians, by then he had like 4 gaurdians left so i took the rest out with my guss flux arch(monolith)
next turn he went and shot at my monolith again with his wraithlord and assaulted my warriors with his other wraithlord(viper)
( both our HQ's were kinda obsolete )
this turn i moved my heavy d into a ring of warriors so he couldnt destroy it and shot it at the wraithlord again. then i had all my remaining warriors( like 16 or 17) rapid fire his wraithlord(viper) which had 2 wounds left. because of the special gauss rules, i was able to wound him 2 after 30 or so shots, and rolling saves
on his turn he assaulted my monolith with his remaining wraithlord( his far seer was by then obliterated)
unknown to me at that time a wriathlord's regular strength is only 5 but because of this lack of information i didnt remind him of my living metal rule and so my frient assaulted my monolith with a strength 10 hit which destroyed my monolith
by then he had realized that his only wraithlord was no match for 16 warriors, necron lord, and a heavy destroyer and surrendered.
plz dont blame me if the point value of the battle was uneaven because my friend never told me how much point's his army was and agreed to the battle
i didnt post this to brag i mainly wanted to show that out of 30 or so shots from my warriors only 2 wounds were put onto my friends wraithlord
1.just so you know, your oponent had maybe 460pts max, and you were in the 750pts range.
2.even with S10 how did the wraithlord take down the lith in CC, that's some incredible luck, only hits on 6's.
3.also, 30 guass flayer shots doing 2 wounds on the wraithlord is rididculous luck, as on average 27 shots will do 1 wound.
Why would you have felt the need for the Lith in a small game? seriously, you could have beaten him with just the Lith playing the correct rules, let alone adding in the other crons
My Cron lists don't even get a Lith until they reach 2000pts
what u mean on a six"s hit
he said since i had no WS it was a automatic his and it's kinda hard not to his a TANK when your like 1 foot away
anyway i think i coulda won without the monolith anyways cuz all it really did was take out 4 gaurdians, shield my heavy d for one turn, and wound his far seer once
i know but as i already mentioned my monolith and heavy destroyer are my pride and joy
For a future note to improve yours and others gaming experience:
1) Monolith is a skimmer and so requires 6 to hit in HtH.
1b) A monolith cant block LoS so couldnt shield your H. Destroyer
2) Pretty nasty points difference, although with the rules as normal he could have won.
3) If his Wraithlord assaulted your warriors, how did you get to shoot? a wraithlord is too tough to be wounded in assault by warriors.
Ask not a question of the eldar, for they will give you three answers all of which are true and horrifying to know.
first of all wtf is HtH?
second, special gauss weapon rule any roll to wound resulting with a 6 is an automatic wound regardless of toughness. BUAHAHAHAHAHAA ALL SHALL FEAR EVEN THE WEAKEST WEAPON AT MY DISPOSAL
i had more that one unit of warriors smart one
