Personal Log of Warboss Blastkill of the Dark Sky Clan: Dis a good plan, I be da most cunnin' ork der eva wus. Dem their spiky-boyz dat blew up our base on Davor II ain't gunna know wat hit 'um. All we gots ta do is grab some loot from these Iqusition Boys and let them follow us home. Da ull teach dem spiky-boyz a lesson.
Playing Area: 6ft by 6ft floor area with forest cover and an imperial outpost. It has a wall and a few buildings. The wall has a main gate and walkway along the inside so infentry can stand on it and shoot.
Objective: The Orks must get into the base to steal a suit of damaged Grey Knight Termanator Armor and escape back to their landed Orbital Lander (doesn't cost any points but is out of LOS of the base so it cant attack either). The Daemon Hunters must stop them one way or another.
Clan Dark Sky
Warboss Blastkill = 104pts
- Powerclaw and Slugga
- 'Eavy Armor and Bionic Bonce
Big Mek Buildy Fixington = 83pts
- Choopa and Slugga KJ: Blasta
- Mekboy Tools and 2 Grot Oilers
- 'Eavy Armor
20 Slugga Boyz = 204pts
- 3 Big Shootas
16 Shoota Boyz = 128pts
Inquisitor Lord = 111pts (If I remeber correctly)
- Force Weapon and Bolt Pistol
- Icon of the Just
3 Death Cult Assassins = 120pts
10 Storm Troopers = 120pts
- Grenade Launcher and Plasma Gun
5 Grey Knights = 150pts
Total = 501pts
DH: All of his units leave the protection of their walls and head out into the feild area before the forest becomes thick.
Orks: Blastkill joins the slugga boyz and everone execpt Buildy Fixington heads towards the base, Sluggas taking the right flank and shootas taking the left.
DH: They move towards the unit of Shoota Boyz while staying out of LoS.
Orks: The Slugga Boyz keep going towards the base and the slugga boyz enter a patch of trees.
DH: The Lord, Assassins and Grey Knights head towards the Group of Slugga Boyz Flank while the Storm Troopers plant in cover since they are now within 24'' of the Shoota Boyz.
Orks: Blastkill keep foot slogging it for the base wishing his orbital lander fit vehicles. Their are only 4'' combind of cover between the Shootas and Storm Troopers so I open fire: Hit 4 wound 2 and kill 1.
DH: The Lord, Assassins and Grey Knights move to cut off the slugga boyz before they get to the base. Next turns its assualting time. The 9 Storm Troopers fire at the Shoota boyz hitting 6, wounding 2 and killing none due to the 5+ cover saves.
Orks: The Slugga boyz stop heading for the base and turn back towards the Lord and the other imperial goons. Shooting phase is the big shootas in the Slugga unit kill 2 Death Cult assassins and all the weapons being rapid fired (over 6'' so I cant charge) whipe out the Lord, rest of the assassins and grey Knights. Thats over 40 shots in total.
The DH player surrenders.
Er, you weren't rapid firing with slugga boyz, were you? You can't do that...they only get one shot each. The shoota boyz can rapid fire, but they wouldn't get 40 shots either, only 32 max. Was it just big shootas from the slugga boyz, and the shoota boyz who rapid-fired? That would be 41 shots...
Pistols can rapid fire if you dont charge. Alot of people dont realize it buts its in the new rulesbook, that most people have yet to buy, well around here anyway.
no thisisn't true you can shoot one shoot if you move or two if u don't
yeah pistols aren't rapid fire
the slightest bit of movement means 1 shot each, otherwise u get 2 (if u dont charge)
"Heresy is like a garden weed, it won't stop feeding until you... BURN THE WHOLE DAMN GARDEN WITH A FLAMER, BURN IT, BURN IT TO HELL!!!!!" "Is there a wittle puppy in the garden? ITS A DAEMON! BURN IT!"
You get 2 for standing still and shooting. No charge allowed. If you move in the movement phase any distance, then only 1 shot, but you can still charge. The only real advantage in pistols is the +1 attack and at least 1 shot before charging into combat. Not bad, except the loss of range, loss firing from the waist, and just 1 less dice for shooting in big moving squads. Still pretty fair

if i read this correctly, u could get away with 1 squad rapid firing and one squad rapid pistol shooting... so how did three squads die? one squad wipes up the GKs (orcs shooting up GKs in one turn of shooting is hard to believe as it is..), and the others shoot up assasins. did the inquisitor join the GK squad?
"One thing that intrigues people to fantasy is how different it is from reality. Make sure you remember that difference, and you'll have a wonderful time."
:hmm:What is the point in the big mek being there, and especially his tools and oilers? Seems like a massive waste of points to me!
Gamesworkshop loves your money!!
That inquisitor lord is illegal, he must have a retinue of a minimum of 3 guys at least.
