    Hi. Im new to fluff writing so this wont be top quality but I hope itll turn out ok.

    Enjoy

    +++ Trans-Kurani subsector, Castile V, Feudal world +++

    It was a bright clear morning. Birds nestled in the treetops. rats scuttled in the wreckages of buildings. An abandoned graveyard stood on the moors, its massed gravestones and numerous monuments telling a tale of death and destruction. But peace now came to Castile V.

    If only for the moment.

    The silence was broken by a roaring in the distance, growing ever louder as daemonic engines of destruction raced forwards, trailing smoke and brimstone in their wake. A lone raptor swooped from a ridge, desperately trying to outrun the nightmares behind him. His helmet was off, and his eyes were wide and full of fear, like a hunted beast. Then a squad of Khornate bikers crested the ridge like a vision from hell itself, insane with the speed and thrill of the chase. At their head rode their lord Doomhelm and he was even more terrifying to behold, his vicious features bathed in blood and his power halberd cutting swathes through the air as he anticipated the kill. Skulls clattered against their infernal machines on long bloodstained chains and they bellowed the ferocious cry of Khorne.

    ‘Blood for the blood god, skulls for the skull throne!’

    The raptor bounded across the moor in great leaps, but the power in his jump pack was failing and the leaps got shorter and shorter as his pack spluttered and then went out. Weeping he sprinted desperately uphill, adrenaline lending his already superhuman figure new speed, but it was no use. The bikers closed in for the kill.

    A plasma shot rang out and the raptor collapsed in a heap, relief plastered insanely on his face before he was cut down by Doomhelm’s weapon. Then the chaos lord screeched to a halt. A rival blocked his path.

    Five raptors boosted over the hilltop, at their head a Chaos lord on mighty daemonic wings, like a mighty fallen angel. Two squads of marines followed him in organized ranks and a rhino bearing the mark of Khorne rumbled into sight. Doomhelms own host followed, four squads of elite marines each bearing a single heavy weapon marching in perfect step to their bloodthirsty chant. At their head lurched an obliterator, his massive mutant bulk twisting into strange and disturbing shapes. But Doomhelm knew that Khorne favored him and he had made a pact for the Blood God to send daemons to his aid.

    The commander’s gazes met and hatred flowed in their stares. Then they turned away and Doomhelm called to his forces, chanting praise to the Gods. He heard his enemy do the same and as he ordered his forces to take up battle stations his eyes blazed with dark malice. Castile V would never be the same again.

    +++ Deployment +++

    The table looked a bit like this...

    Tom got 1st turn and the game began...

    +++ Turn 1 +++

    The mighty chaos lord and his retinue advanced, the jumppacks trailing smoke as they pinwheeled around the mighty lord. The beast in flight was a truly impressive sight in flying, an 8 foot wingspan unfurling to power the commander towards his foes.

    ‘Woooooaaah...’ Gasped one of Doomclaws marines in awe. ‘Why doesn’t our boss have some of those?’

    His champion promptly shot him for treachery.

    The Khorne bezerker’s rhino powered into cover, the driver daunted by the display of heavy arms displayed against it. The bezerkers hammered on the driver’s door in fury but he kept his head; A remarkable achievement considering the number of maddened, bloodthirsty psychopaths inside the transport with him. The opposing obliterator lumbered forward, loosing a lascannon blast into one of the missile launcher teams and blowing a marine to oblivion. Deathbringer’s teams of marines managed to bring down three of the frenzied bikers.

    The opposing lord and his raptors dived into combat with the missile launcher team, impaling all but one on their dark blades, but as the survivor turned to run the raptors suddenly disengaged, breaking off and swooping behind the cover of the barricades. Doomhelm watched impassively, controlling his rage. What sort of plan was afoot here?

    Oh well... Doomhelm fired up the engines and urged his daemonic machine forward, unleashing a devastating burst of bolter shots at the squad of marines facing him, but none of them fell to the hail of fire. The obliterator emerged from a huge crack in the wall of the ruined building and lurched forward, firing his lascannon at the rear of the rhino and immobilising it.

    (‘I told you!’ The driver screamed through the vox slot to the passengers as the rhino’s tracks were blasted from it’s body. ‘But did you listen? Get out of here!’ The driver double-locked the door to keep the crushing tide of beserkers out as they alternately screamed, chanted or attempted to eat each other as the lead members struggled to get to grips with the idea of having a handle to open the access ramp.)

    The perfectly ranked formations of marines fired at their carefully selected targets, resulting in a raptor dead and a squad of marines reduced to half strength on the left flank.

    +++ Turn 2 +++

    Doomhelm felt a disturbance in the immaterial and a shift in Khorne’s favor. A stench of blood filled the batltlefield, pleasing to his senses, and a red storm filled the moors. When it had departed he saw bloodletters of Khorne trampling the skulls of the slain. He cryed out to them to join him in the slaughter for Khorne but they turned away, instead joining the forces of Lord Deathbringer in their march. A red mist filled Doomhelm’s vision as he saw his adversary turn towards him and flash a predatory smile before hurling himself into the air. The raptors bore down on the bikers and Doomhelm called out a challenge to the traitor in Khorne’s favor - he would pay!

    The raptors cannoned into the bikers as the daemons and bezerkers advanced towards the threat. The obliterator and chaos space marine squads succeded in killing (&#33 one marine. A round of applause for that, I think.

    The two lords met in the heat of combat as the bikers struggled with the raptors. Doomhelm dealt the traitor three mighty blows, only for them to be warded off by the Blood God’s favor, but the exalted one was only able to hurt Doomhelm once in a hail of blows. As Doomhelm appealed to Khorne the Lord of Skulls laughed and turned his back and Doomhelm was wounded by the weakling. As the red mist of combat began to clear the cowardly raptors fled from the beserkers (hit and run) who hat butchered two raptors for the loss of one more of Doomhelm’s retinue.

    Doomhelm called upon Khorne to lend him his favor once more and Khorne answered this time, sending five of his Bloodletters to cut down the upstart’s forces. Then the mighty chaos lord charged at the bloodletters of his enemy, splitting up from his unit. The other three bikers and the newly arrived daemons of blood rushed madly into combat with the Khorne Bezerkers, the Khornate bikers gunning down one as they went in.

    The mighty ranks of the black legion targeted the bloodletters, sending shot after shot into the daemons about to be engaged by their lord. Half of the entities were banished in a roaring maelstorm of warp energy.

    Doomhelm chanted the honors of Khorne as he charged forward, cutting a barbaric figure. His jet black eyes, only a tiny pupil in their centre, narrowed in hatred and his bloodstained bike sounded as though it had been spawned in the furnaces of the warp. It had been. He gripped his force halberd and swung it up in devastating blows, slicing one of the creatures apart as he roared past and turning to come in for another run. The bikers hacked through two frenzied marines and the bloodletters killed one more in an explosion of blood and gore. Khorne would be pleased. The bezerk marines pressed in, cleaving apart a bloodletter in wide destructive sweeps of their chainaxes.

    +++ Turn 3 +++

    Deathbringer turned, hawkish features converging into a smile through a mass of scars as he spotted the Khorne lord cleaving through his bloodletters. Launching himself into the air with powerful beats of his pinions the exalted one split up for his raptors, emiting a feral snarl as he bore down on his rival for power.

    The teams of marines felled two marines in a badly judged volley of fire.

    The raptors swooped into the melee between daemons and bezerkers, decapitating a biker as they delivered death from above. Bezerker and beast fought madly, the bezerkers dragging down another biker and a bloodletter, but the frenzied retinue of Lord Doomhelm sliced down three bezerkers with the Bloodletter daemons adding a raptor to the total. The raptors broke off from the engagement and the remaining two bloodstained marines were left abandoned.

    Lord Doomhelm turned his iron steed to see his adversary propelling itself towards him on daemonic wings and he yelled a battlecry, slicing down the two bloodletters facing him like ripe corn. The exalted one cannoned into him, taking a chunk out of his shoulders with it’s claws. He screamed in pain and rage, driven into a killing frenzy as he turned his bike to face him.

    Doomhelm’s black armoured marines targeted the bloodletters nearby, blowing four of the warp entities into the oblivion where they had come. The obliterator let out a bellow of scorn at the weaklings and unleashed a plasma gun shot at his equally mutated counterpart, hurting the monstrosity.

    Deathbringer lunged at Doomhelm but the skillful lord parried his attacks and struck out with his blade, but it was no use as he could not wound the invulnerable creature. Deathbringer grinned in anticipation of the kill.

    +++ Turn 4 +++

    Deathbringer’s raptors charged for the last time into the combat where Doomclaw’s last surviving biker and two Bloodletters were about to slaughter two bezerkers. The lone bloodletter on the other end of the table charged the obliterator, who laughed contemptuously.

    The firing teams managed to bring down all but one of squad A in the graveyard.

    The daemon of Khorne hacked at the obliterator ineffectually, who splatted the daemon into the ground with single powerful blow. Once more the contemptuous bellows rang out.

    The bloodletters hacked apart the two bezerkers facing them and the biker cut down a raptor as it swooped in. The weakling raptors could not harm Doomhelm’s warriors and the one survivor fled off the board edge in terror, the sweeping advance bringing his enemies dangerously close to the firing squad on the hill.

    Doomhelm struck out madly with his force halberd, a red mist filling his vision, wounding his opponent twice. The exalted one gave a roar of pain before striking back desperately, felling Doomhelm with a vicious blow to the side of his head with the flat of it’s claws. As Doomhelm collapsed off his bike it prepared for the killing blow. Then it heard its enemy whisper something faintly. Leaning forward it grinned malevolently, huge teeth showing behind its blackened lips.

    ‘Your epitaph, fool?’ It questioned.

    ‘Die, beast!’ Doomhelm gasped.

    With the last of his strength Doomhelm launched himself from his position and up, his force halberd forgotten, pushing with the last of his strength until they were both standing.

    ‘Fire!’ he bellowed. Doomhelm shouted a plea to Khorne and he was gone in a flash of dark light.

    The incoming lascannon and missile launcher detonations blew the daemon prince, Doomclaw’s bike and the surrounding barricade apart.

    Dark laughter echoed across the battlefield.

    +++ Turn 5 +++

    The marines of the now deceased Lord Deathbringer unleashed all they had at the enemy forces. Unfortunately this wasn’t a lot. Squad 3 only managed to kill off one bloodletter, while the remnants of Squad 4 took a wound from the obliterator through sheer luck. The enemy’s obliterator, lurching forward frantically, missed it’s target. The raptor, unused to being a loner, retreated off the board.

    Lurching in, the obliterator of Deathbringer’s charged Doomhelm’s mutated beast. Both creatures cancelled each other out, crushing each other to a pulp simultaneously.

    A whispering filled the corridors of the warp and Doomhelm’s forces obeyed their lord’s command. His marines killed the remnants of Squad 4 and shot down one marine from Squad 3.

    The bloodletter and khorne biker charged into the marines, killing two for no losses. The cowards fled from the battlefield. With only an empty rhino left of the enemy’s army, Doomhelm’s forces were victorious.

    +++ Victory points +++

    Me: 1093?

    He must have been over his points limit a bit. Makes victory all the sweeter.

    Tom: 500

    So (those of you who got this far&#33 Whatya think?

    Nice battle? Please reply.

    That was... confusing. I couldn't tell what was going on some of the time. Playing Khorne vs khorne ain't the best idea especially as you 2 had some of the same units. I would recommend taking a unit of khorn beserkers next time, and maybe dumping the obliterator (although it killed his lord, it didn't do loads), and dropping a csm squad and adding a dread (not sure about the dread tho).

    TO MUCH FLUFFINESS! You need to SOME fluff in, but not enough to make it a story. Its to confusing to follow then. But good fluff.
