Canoness Sabine Benedictus waited patiently while Colonel Geffen talked to his advisers. Although this was a matter of utmost importance to the Ministorum, Sabine hated dealing with men like Geffen, he smoked a cigar and wielded his plasma pistol like a toy. Besides, he lacked not only an aura of purity but any manner of common decency that she desired in a person.
The Colonel did not have good news. Apparently Inquisitor Kannes had caught word of their discovery. The witch craft on this deathworld had become his prize. Of course he would not let feeble imperial guard and adeptus soritas claim the that was right fully theirs, but instead would cleanse them of ever having known about the heresy. Colonel Geffen informed Sabine that Kannes' attack was imminent. Whether or not she trusted him, she would have to rely on his troops and armor to fend back Kannes' ego...
IG and WH:
Vet. Sister Sup. w/ plasma p
2x Infantry Squad
Chimera w/heavy bolters and smoke
Vet. Sister Sup.

2xLeman Russ w/1xHB and smoke
2xwarriors w/grenade launchers
4xGrey Knight Terminators
[Grey Knight Terminators]
Luckily Canoness Sabine was ready for Kannes' arrival, WH and IG had first turn. The armored fist squad jumpted out as the chimera blew smoke and skidded sideways to block the knights from attacking the advancing IG troops. The Dominions also hurtled toward neardby cover and blew smoke from their rhino exiting close to the chimera and behind a ruined building. The battle sisters sat nervously in the open as the grey knights materialized but just out of range. The Leman Russes and rocket launchers both tried to ofire at the whispy apparitions, but to no avail. Colonel Geffen hid behind a pillar of rock with his vox caster ready while Sabine rocketed into the ruined building, her eyes on the terminators.
The grey knights opened with a volley of pyscannon fire from Inquistor Kannes that rocked the concealed chimera to bits. Its previous contents stood yards away, quietly awaiting orders. The Purgation squad took aim at the Dominions as they rushed vainly for cover, eliminating all but one sister with a flamer, who remained stalwart in her advance.
The rockets still failed to maim their targets in the second round of shooting while the sole flamer sister advanced into the ruins. Nearby stormtroops soon met their firey fate from her blessed weapon. Sabine launched from the ruins into the center of the Terminator Squad felling two ancient warrions with her precious plasma pistol. Meanwhile the Armored fist squad clung to the cover of the steaming remains of the chimera waiting for their cue. One battle sisters squad opted for cover rather than face the open fire of a terminator squad on the left flank, bringing them closer, but out of site of the terminators. The second squad poured fire onto the nearby stormtroopers causing them to fall back and securing the plasmagun issue. The Leman Russes were right on target this turn causing 6 wounds to the purgation squad and 5 to the grey knights squad. Geffen laughed as he heard the anguished cries echo off the canyon walls, "those fools think that power armor makes the strongest invincible?!"
The assault phase brought more carnage as Sabine in a vision from the emperor sliced two more of the terminators with her eviscerator after making four saves as if the emperor himself had strengthened her armor.
The grey knights tried to rally their supporting troops bringing the stormtroopers closer into cover in the ruins, however their right flank fell back against the onslaught of the sisters. The grey knight terminators advance on our left flank, attempting to flame and assault the sisters from behind their cover. One sister fell to the flames of an incinerator, but the terminators were too slow to engage in hand to hand battle. Sabine then met her doom. The tip of a force weapon caught her slender neck. The emperor carried her upwards as her body lost its earthly grip.
Enraged the armored fist squad having taken several casualties burst from cover blasting their weapons at the nearest target, but to no avail the Justicar survived. The Platoon HQ however, loosed sever shoots from their plasma weapons and felled the remained terminator easily. Rockets still failed to hit their elusive marks and the left flank storm troops ran from the battle, a victory for the sisters. However, more urgent matters concerned thier divine attention; sister Adelia had pronounced that a vision of the emperor commanded her to attack the greedy grey knights advancing behind them. She took her heavy flamer and felled two of the giants in a white hot burst of flames. Two more fell to the rage of the squads' bolters. But one terminator remained.
With his army in shambles and pride crushed, Kannes deserted the battle field in shame, never to be heard from again.
3 Turns, 230 pts lost. Major victory for imperial guard and WH.
Awesome battle report! I love how the lone sister survived, and then purged (flamed) a whole lot of traitor stormtroopers (inquisitors are fags). Well done on your win. Go the sisters and guard, even though I only play nids!
Only one thing, there are no traitor grey knights. Other than that, good win and good report!
Excellent report, I always like reports where its not just a turn by turn recount which is extremely dull.
A billion chinese can't be wrong - eat rice.
thanks for the input guys,
Finding a premise for a battle between grey knights and sisters of battle was difficult because of course there are no traitor grey knights. But generally there are no traitor sisters either (that of course doesn't go for IG!). So basically i pinned this one on the inquistor leading the grey knights and his desire to claim responsibility for cleansing the impurities in the local area that the IG and WH had actually discovered. So although it wasn't explained well, this was a territorial battle inspired by the greed of the inquisitor (who are subject to such tendencies more than the Grey Knights who were just following orders). Next time I won't write my battle reports after a long night of drinking
Thanks for the input!
