hey guys i have been playing BA for a long time. Using 9 speeders with mm i can control any squad or troop transport by covering the access points. People say my lance of speeders is a) easily beat, b) cheesy but in 10 games i have not lost against marines or IG. I also have never lost all of them in any game. Can anyone give me some feed back to either of my speeder comments.
the army list is
1 chap with master crafted TH and Cr Ar. Art armour, JP
1 librarian with JP, TH, FW and iron halo, artif armour
9 land speeders with muilti meltas
2-6man marines with missle lauch. and plasma rifle, vet serge with nothing special
1 scout with missile lauch. with vet serge with nothing special
2 dreads with missile lauch, and lascan
and death company who have JP, all the vet serges come out first to get either power fists or p. swords. depending on what my opp. is playing.
this is close to 2000 pts
but every time i play some one new they ***** about my speeder saying they can take them out on the first turn. unknowing to them i hide my army first turn and give the first turn to my opponent. This is very helpful as they usually move forward ( closer to my death company to pounce) and i get the last turn to contest quads, or make the final blow to win. i believe this is a great tact. and i hope other marines can use this too.
Yea, this should be in the list forum. However, I have been facing the same criticism. I have recently changed my footslogging Bad Moon army into one with speed. The two trukkboyz unit I have generally win me the game, taking out key units my amazing shooting cannot take out, no sarcasm. People generally think they can destroy two A10 allaround tanks with no problem, but stealth is key. The only time they were destroyed wass when I had 4 rocks touchingmy board edge and and no terrain the middle and I was playingagainst Tau and Dark Angels, in thaty game my dice were cursed, and I lost deployment, edge, and first turn, I still only had a minor loss after my boss ran through three units. Hiding is important, you just cannot rush shocktroop units up the middle and expect them to reach their objective/
I have a hard time with spending nearly 600 pts on land speeders with one-shot weapons while taking only a few small squads of troops.
Yours is a gimmick army list that relies on a couple of powerful characters and a fleet of landspeeders with AT weapons. It's going to meet its match against any seriously shooty army, particularly Guard and Tau. Could easily have problems with Orks as well, since after your troops are gone, the Orks just spread out and start gunning at your vulnerable landspeeders...if you're in range, then so are they! They'll win that war of attrition pretty easily.
no offense, but this list will get smoked by orks. you have no "horde control" which means your army lacks a sufficient volume of fire.
i think that orks, tau, and iron warriors would beat this list with ease.
