Me and my mate decidede to have a Special Game, that I designed myself, and would *hopefully* be really fun and close.
Here are the rules:
The defender has a 2000 point force, that has to start in the centre of the board, in or around a large terrain piece. He may keep any units in reserve, but must deploy at least 6.
The opponent takes up to 6 Carnifexes, that must abide to the normal Force Oganisation Chart restrictions. ie. 3 heavy support choices and 3 elites.
The Carnifex team goes first. They entire army deep strikes, using the normal deep strike rules anywhere on the table. However, if they come into contact with an enemy model, they don't die, as the normal rule suggests. If a Carnifex falls out of the sky onto an Ork, the Carnifex will not lose...
whoever the carnifex comes into contact with will suffer a strength hit equal to the toughness value of the Carnifex, and an AP value of the armour save of the Carnifex. If it hits a Vehicles, it is simply moves out the way, in the same fashion as the Necron Monolith rule. a trukk wouldn't just sit there as a huge hulk smashes into it. Every time a Carnifex dies, he will re-deep strike, just like he has before, on the following Tyranid players turn. So there is potential for a Carnifex to die 6 times.
If the defender has any unit still alive at the end of the game, he wins. The Carnifex team must destroy every unit on the board.
So yes, this army could easily be compared to a Meat Grinder, with the minor difference that there is an endless wave of carnifexes...
Any questions or comments, and I'll gladly answer. ^_^
Hope the enjoyed.
Nicely written up Rob, I must say I'm pleased with the way the pictures came out. My debut with my new digi-cam.
Some pretty funny moments, especialy the Nob powerklawin' the Shooty fex on the last turn. That fex (it came back several times) managed an impressive kill count.
Oh, and the Zzap gun rolling a 3 for Strenght, but then getting a 6+ and wounding a fex! hilarious. The there was the Gun Trukk which 2 turns in a row failed with the Zzap gun, but did wounds with its Rokkit launcha!
If the elite fex with rending claws had had a gun it would have done better too.
Every time you read this sig: a fairie dies!
haha...my bad. The second ones would be turn 4...
Interesting report, nicely done with the pics + scribbly red lines. You must have fun with all those flying carnifexes . But where was turn 4? Doesnt matter much tho cos the report was a fun scenario.
heh. there was two turn 3's...I did a different layout this time, and forgot to add the turn counts...apart from number 1.But where was turn 4?
i didnt know you could bring fexs down like that!
PM me about Aurora Prime Vassal fights! Willing and ready!
